Here's a pic of my 95 Aurora the day I brought it home 11-18-04. 80k actual miles, Black on Black Autobahn! I have since removed the front plate holder and had the windows tinted (38%) all the way around. Chromies and new rubber yet to come. Only thing I had to do to this car besides clean it, was put new brake pads on the front. As soon as the weather clears, I will get some recent pics with the tint. For now this will have to do.

Secsi Question tho, I believe there are two types of front bumpers, one that is built for the plate holder, the other that is not. It appears that if you remove the holder, it may not look right Or is the front fascia universal? I havent taken mine off so..yanno

I believe holes are simply drilled in the bumper to hold that plate bracket on. If you've never had a bracket, you'll have a holeless bumper, but if you remove the bracket, you'll have two small holes.

Aurora is correct. I just have a couple small holes that are hardly detectable in black. I'm sure with white, these would be easier to see. I'm planning on plugging the two small holes so they will not be visible at all. Other than that the bumper facia is the same.

Not sure if it's legal here in Wisconsin or not, but I took my Bonny plate holder off back in February and never got a look. I found a large SSE behind the plate holder on it that I never new existed. It looked way better off. So I took this one off too. It's kinda silly, because in WI we have to put a sticker on the plate each year we register the vehicle, and they only give us one for the rear plate. The front is just there fro the number I guess.

Yeah, Wisconsin you need both front and rear plates, hmm, that's odd they only gave you one sticker, i'll have to find the site that says all that stuff on what's legal and what's not.

Very nice looking car ya got there BB. And I'm sure it looks even better now with tint. However being from the Philadelphia area, I am somewhat partial to my Eagle's Green color scheme. Not that I would lord over our team's drubbing delivered to some residents of the Green Bay area recently, I think you folks call them the "Packers". ;D (Ok, so I did brag, sorry)
Back to the car, black is one of my absolute favs for any car, and Aurora's look absolutely wicked in black. But having owned several black cars, the maintainance is a killer with all the spots and swirls. 'Course that means you can spend more time polishing your baby, heh? Best of luck with it.

Did you ever get a quote for the rear windows only? That's what I would like to have tinted, since it's all that is legal in IL. BTW, I absolutely love your black beauty, Black Beauty! ;D

I never did, but the guy that did mine said the rear windo in that Aurora was a son of a gun! He said the dot matrix that surrounds the glass really raises heck with the installation of tint. Also, since he waranty's everything he sells, he informed me that he would pe putting the black band on the outside due to those dots.
So to answer your question, I really don't know what it would cost for just the rear glass.
Oh, Thanks too for the compliment!

Whats the black band on the rear window do/for? I though that people usually get a whole window tinted, not just 5 or 6 inches I understand about the windshield , but the rear window too

The problem with the Aurora rear window is the wide band of little dots that go across the top of the window. It is wider than most vehicles, and it creates little bumps when trying to adhere the film(tint) to the glass. If you have a raised area, there is usually air there that has no adhesion. They put a black band of LIMO tint across the outside of my window to cover the "dot matrix" band across the top of the glass. It gives it a completed look, otherwise there would have been an area that had no tint at all. The band does not interfear with my rear view mirror / vision. and because the band is just a very dark tint(limo), I can still see through it.

I wonder if there will be any complications with that strip of tint being on the outside of the window... directly exposed to moisture and the elements, etc. It sounds like the shop will guarantee its replacement regardless, but that's the first I've ever heard of having tint on glass exterior.

Scotty, I was wondering too what problems I may have. My dad brought up that point too, especially with the snow and ice on windows etc... I think I'll steer clear of it with the ice scraper and only use the brush on it. It's been on almost 2 weeks now, and it looks like it did the day I brought it home. It does seem to be a fairly thick vinyl though. Similar to the vinyl used in custom graphic lettering etc. Not like the usual thin mylar that is used for tinting.
I'm curius JimW, what did they use on your rear window, or did they tint over the dots??

They tinted the inside all 35%, its not 100% perfect, but its been holding up very well so far, and its been over a year now.
I guess a pic is in order eh? (daylight is an issue as I work all day, maybe this weekend!)
