That rear shot where it disappears is great, and I really like that on-a-ladder last shot! Looking good!

Some of the best shots of a second gen I've seen. Looking really good.

nice lookin' rora, hey, did they change the redline on the second gen to 6500rpm? on my classic it looks more like 6250rpm. Yes. The classics redlined at 6000 until about 1997-98ish. There were changes to the valve springs such that they all used the 300hp N* springs, and thus could support higher rpms (though the car wasn't cammed for it). I believe the redline crept up each year to about ~6200 or so. The 1995-96's would be very bad to go over 6000 rpm as they could float a valve. At least such is my understanding. The new car has a pretty different system altogether with roller followers and such. It seems to pull with minimal dropoff all the way to 6500. On a more important note, though, Custom's car is a 3.5L V6, not a 4.0. The 3.5L has a redline at 6700 rpm. I don't know where they shift at, though. A 3.5L owner would be better able to speak to that.

The power band on the 3.5 is very.... interesting to say the least. It's like nothing I"m used to. I came from the Buick 3800 which had a totally flat torque curve which means it had a lot of torque no matter what RPM it was at and was out of breath by around 5,200 RPM. The 3.8 put out over 200 ft-lbs of torque at 1,000 RPM!. The 3.5 on the other hand doesn't wake up until 4k rpm. After that it starts to really pull hard. Below 4k it's kind of... dead. at low throttle it drives great but get on it and it doesn't like it until it's allowed to rev up. In 1st gear the engine shifts at around 6,500 RPM as far as I can tell. Might be a little lower. I don't think the 4t65E can handle RPM's much higher than that. The 3.5 does continue to pull hard all the way up to its redline though. You just want to try and keep it above 4,000 RPM if you want to accelerate fast.
As for the seats they do look confortable but I think they're a little bit too hard compared to what I'm used to. even our SSEi has softer seats than the aurora. It's just a big surprise. Just another one of those European inspired things I guess. If you look at the interior of the 2nd gen and compare it to an european car like a BMW or Mercedes you see a resemblence. The interior feels very classy and expensive.

6000 is still really good for mine. incredible music at that RPM. i love it. custom same with the 4.0 it doesnt really wake up til 4k, then it leaves anyone behidn it in the dust. but it doesnt feel weak below that either. Not sure what you mean. mine pulls really hard til 3rd gear then about half way in to 3rd it seems to drop flat, but at about that time your somewhere around 80mph so i hardly ever hold it floored then anyway

i think its neat how the new ones have the 3rd brake light on top. Call me crazy, but I have never thought anything of it. It is kinda cool. At least 10 ft tall H2's can see that you're stopped in front of them.

Even if the leather is a little stiffer than desired... I love the LED brake lights too, I've wondered if there is a way to replace the 3rd brake light on the Classics with a small LED strip? Hmmm....

You know, the more you look at these cars, it's like looking at a pretty girl. You just keep taking second looks. I agree on the 3.5, mine really doesn't come alive till 3800-4000 rpm, then it really starts pulling. Custom, are those Goodyear RSA'S on there?

I'm almost positive they're the originals though.
