How can you tell if it does or doesn't have the Optional Onstar? There'll be On-Star buttons, as there isn't anywhere on the dash for the buttons and a different connection too.

Got some more mods done today. Calibrated the mirror (Thx TJM!), and installed a grounding kit today. Big difference so far! Well the first 2 starts have been weird but it finds idle quicker and idles better. Driving it now, I understand Jim's "mushyness." Throttle response is "crisp" all the time. No variance in power levels. Also sometimes it would start in 2nd under moderate throttle but now it loves revving and being it first. Steven would love this mod. Also shown is the homelink unit I installed a while ago (back on edmunds). My garage door opener door was broken. You can tell the difference between the 95's mushroom and the later neutral colors. Installation was pretty easy. I ran the power from the map lights. Works great! We have a gate opener for our community at home and it works from far away. Barely have to slow for the gate. Here's the shot of mirror and homelink (note the diff. colors. Its not that bad in person, matches the grab handles) hey 95, how did you take off the remote thingy? i think that is where the sunroof motor is located. did you notice it?

Just pull slowly and evenly around it. It just pops on and off. I don't remember seing a motor in there, but I really didn't look so its worth a shot.

sunroof motor is located above rear passenger's head and module is on right side of it awesome, would you happen to know how to take down the headliner? i guess im going to have to, to get to the motor. i know on my Explorer i had screws on the sides of the roof but these dont have screws. so im guessing i have to remove the sun visors and the remote but i think im stuck from there. im still waiting on the motor so should be here this weekend so will have to make an all day event out of this. i actually bid on a manual and was outbid so think its going to get real expensive. dont have the cash for it.

Gee, the rearview mirror? oh i thought you might be talking about the motor for the sunroof. yeah installed it as soon as i got. hella sweet too. it was easy just problem was taking the metal backing on the compass mirror. but otherwise i didnt even have to calibrate it. i just changed zones and boom worked right away.

I just removed all the trim and panels in the rear passenger compartment and let the headliner rest on the top of the rear seat console (release magnet in the center of headliner at rear windshield). It did crease a bit at the center pillar but all went back to normal when i pushed it back into place. Simple removal of the motor and the reset procedure is here: aurorah.proboards47.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=Audio&thread=1099150253&page=1

ok so i dont have to remove the visors and the remote? should i only have the rear hanging down? also have any ideas of where these wires plug into? Just remove the rear trims and stuff (handles) and open the rear consol about 6" to hold up the rear of the headliner. ya wont need all those wires. the motor and the module are right next to each other (module just slides off the bracket) You can disconnect the module and the motor and just use the original harness with your new hardware. 1 hour job - KEEP YOUR HANDS CLEAN on the headliner and trim

ok got my motor and should be putting it on Monday. ok i can see how i can take off the handles on the rear. looking at it, how do i get the side panels on the door that hug the roof on the sides off? i cant see how i can do that without trying to force the roof from over that possible bending the roof. now should i take everything off the roof like the sun visors and pass. roof handle besides the rear handles. now where exactly is the motor located?

I didn't remove the trim from the door pillar; thats where the headliner will bend a bit but like i said when i pushed mine back up all evidence of it bending dissapeared.
I removed rear stuff only and left all the front stuff in place - you will have enough room to get to the motor without dropping the entire headliner.
If you sit in the back seat (passenger side) the motor/module is right above your head.
