Today I spent a grand total of 7 hours detailing the Aurora .. exterior only. I washed it, applied a cleaner to deep clean the paint, did two coats of polish, and finally, an application of Meguiar's Gold Class paste wax. I even waxed the inside of the doors/body behind doors, and removed the tail lights to clean behind them.. it was filthy! also waxed the inside of the trunk lid, etc. I figured a different type of pictures would be in order since I always seem to take the same, old, boring pictures of my car in my front yard. this time, they're pictures of the scenic route of roads very near my lake, and a few pictures in front of the lake. . (all pictures were taken within 3 miles of my house.)

Looks great! What kind of improvement did you see from the cleaner? What about the polish? Did you polish the wheels? They look very shiny. What'd you use on the tires?

The cleaner made a very large difference. the paint was rough in just the six months between waxes. I had washed the car prior to using the cleaner and still, the applicator pad and the cloth I used to wipe it off were dark brown/black in some spots when they were white before I started. The polish made the paint have more depth and shine to it. For the wheels I used Mother's Mag and aluminum polish. It's very simple to use and it only took me about 10 minutes per wheel. I also used the same thing on my exhaust tips. For the tires I wanted to use some "back to black" but my dad used it up.. So I found a bottle of armor-all and used that. Not the best, but it looks so much better than it did before so I'm happy.

nice, i just cringe when you are so close to those trees thinking a bird comes flying by and *boom* nice white suprise on your hood. looks real nice. i dont think i have the patience for a 7 hour clean job. rather pay the $30 and have a shop do it. looks good.

There's no way your getting as good a job as Dan did for $30 bucks.

Very nice chrome tips on your exhaust! Are they the OEM shined or the aftermarket?

Very nice chrome tips on your exhaust! Are they the OEM shined or the aftermarket? they are the stock Aurora tips sanded down and shined. They look great for stock tips now! I put metal polish on them atleast once a month and none of the rust or corrosion has returned yet. The winter might be a different story though.

Oh, man. Looks better than when new, I'm 100% certain! Good call on cleaning behind the tail lights. I did that on the G recently because I had to replace a cracked outer light, and thought "what the heck?" and took the center and other outer off to clean. Glad to know someone else does this obsessiveness...

Dan-O, Great job on the cleanup, what do you charge?? LOL. I have to do some work on mine since winter's around the corner. A good wash and wax as well as a wheel polish is in order.

Bob, looks good man! Just cant see why you spent 7hrs detailing, then take it on a dusty dirty road!? When I detail mine, with all Meguiars products of course, it goes in the garage, and is not seen until I decide to show it off or go to work.. I'm looking for a nice car cover, so my mom can park inside again. She's getting annoyed.. -Nick
