aura1 will be there in a grand am (not show quality, but would love to be in the parade!!!) I will run the track with everyone. Randy I'm trying to shoot for a time around 4-5 pm so I will be leaving springfield (IL) around 10 AM just to be sure im there on time. its about a 5 1/2 hour trip. I will than shoot up to Kansas for a tour of the Jayhawk's campus by our own XJS come sunday. If tony's willing lucy could still make it....we would just have to extend that trailer of his to fit three cars instead of two ;D But amanda and I will both be there. Amanda in her white dress of course. I'm quite excited for this meet so lets make it a good fall meet!!! P.S. I'll take it easy on collins, wouldnt want his feelings hurt by a big bad V6

Tyler was planning on coming. I tried calling him a couple days ago and left a message. Tony is bringing both of his Auroras. I'm still trying to convince Jack to come. ;D Theres an Aurora in Lawrence that I see whenever I'm driving and he always looks at my car but I can't find him parked anywhere... I'll try my best to get him a card and get him to come as well. Will Lion Vista be back, Randy? I have yet to check, it's creeping up fast.

Take it easy on me? Psh... Amanda won't know what hit her once I unleash Ashley's fury.
I talked to Tyler today and he says a lot of things are up in the air such as work, class, etc. and he is going to try his best to make it. I should know later this week whether he is coming or not.
And I don't consider myself a stalker if its for a good cause! haha
It's going to be VERY exciting! I can't wait. I'm bringing up a helmet for the track too, a $1,200 Arai Racing helmet from Jayhawk Motorsports. ;D

I'm bringing up a helmet for the track too, a $1,200 Arai Racing helmet from Jayhawk Motorsports. ;D Nice, but leave the helmet in the trunk till your there with the other cars and see what they do. I brought my buddy's helmet the first time I went. I had it laying right on the passenger seat. Noticed when everyone walked by, they'd see the helmet, and do a double take on the Aurora, look under the hood, etc. I got to the track bright and early so I was one of the first cars to go. I noticed a sizable crowd was watching me. Did my pass and turned in a staggering 16.xx something . Pull back into the lane and watch everyone else. Came to the realization I was the only one with a helmet (that wasn't in the 13 and under class). Needless to say, there wasn't much of a crowd the second pass, nor did anyone stop to chat the rest of the night

yeah I'm having no ill dilusion that amanda is going to whoop on ashley. I'm just interested to see how the times come out. Plus its always helpful to see how the new car stacks up against the old one. take this to a road course and I'd be lapping that DRM of yours collins.

Nice, but leave the helmet in the trunk till your there with the other cars and see what they do. That makes sense, I'll do that. I just thought it would be fun. We were required to wear them when I autocrossed, I forgot that we don't need them at the track for our cars.

no that's ok it's yours so you get the honors hey Collins remember the guy with the barbed wire decals all over his aurora? lmao i know you do. well guess who i ran into today at Pep Boys. yup..barbed wire guy. the technicians were looking under the hood at my stuff and i was standing about 40 feet away when this guy walks up to my car and says," i know this car, does it have a chrome gas cap...yup that's the one."he looked up at me and i was like," yea you probably seen me driving around town or something." he said,"no at Randy's aurora meet last year. remember me?" i said barb wire and he nodded. lol i told him about our meet in Aurora coming up and he said he would be sure to show up lol! (as a spectator! don't go hating) he says he has 3 auroras now and that, get this! he put 15" slicks on the front of one! he proceeded to tell me how he cut the inner fenders out to fit the near tuck & narrowed rear end sized meats on the front and how well it hooks up now. i was like well they hook up pretty good with the stock size and he acted like his aurora for reasons unknown spun the tires so bad that he needed them. good grief that's the dumbest thing ever, ok besides the 4x4 aurora it's gotta be the biggest disgrace to an aurora ever. then a Delorean pulled up. wish i had my camera on me. can you imagine an aurora with huge slicks up front? geesh...this guy needs more crack or something.

I remember that guy, he left at the beginning and didn't ever come back. He had fake portholes on the front too. If he wants to come thats fine but if he does I'm sure either Zach or I will end up taking his portholes off. ;D
Okay not for real but slicks? Really? I'll believe it when I see it. Totally unnecessary.

Oh I completely believe that he told you that, I don't doubt you. Its him that I doubt... At least if he shows up we can show him at the track that slicks won't help much.

Only 6 more days! Don't forget lawn chairs guys! And how many people are camping? I have mowed paths and circles in my field to allow people to have semi-private camping. I have 3 of them made, so I think that should be enough.

well for what it's worth i thought i'd post an itinerary. this is an approx. loose schedule but within 30 minutes of true time i believe. it also may not affect everyone but here it is:
Friday afternoon 3:00 - 4:30 arrive at Randy's house and start talking smack(lol) i mean start getting ready to race. i'm gonna start filming our documentary or whatever you wanna call it. those who are camping should set up their tents while it's still light out.
Friday late afternoon/early evening around 6:00 - 7:00 arrive in Rogersville at the race track. get checked in at the booth and pick out our pit lane. we will get to watch some of the big boys race to qualify for the fall shoot-out. when they are finished the track will open up for us and anyone else who comes to race. (mostly street cars)
Friday night late (just whenever we finish or they close, no real time expectations) group up and head back to Randy's place. cook hot dogs on a bonfire, socialize & whatever.
Saturday 7:00 - 7:30 early morning wake up, eat breakfast & get ready to roll out to Aurora
Saturday 8:00 arrive at Aurora and get checked in, park cars, etc.
Saturday 9:00 show & shine. final prep on your car for the judges
Saturday 1:00 car judging finished
Saturday 1:30 meet at the corner of Lincoln & Locust streets to be in the parade
Saturday 2:00 parade. throw candy at kids lol
Saturday 4:00 awards ceremony
Saturday 5:00 convoy back to Randy's & grab your stuff, say goodbyes or go home whatever
so there you have it

Sorry Guys, The PACE Car is not going to make it. I just got out of the hospital on Sat after Back surgery on Wed, 23rd. I was hoping to be able to get that done & still make it, but my ability to sit for hours & hours in a vehicle is not in the Stars for me. So sorry. I was looking forward to coming down. I know the enjoyment I get out of showing it off. And I know that others really do enjoy it too, & and especially when they get to drive it, but... Take lots of Pics and there is always next year. I want to have my 95 Autobahn finished with the Razzi Body kit, too. ;D (of course that is not done yet either with my back issues over the last month) Take care, drive safe, especially at the Track, and most of all ENJOY those AURORAS. really hate to hear that man. hope you heal up good. just saw the weather and Saturday is the only day coming up that's not expected to rain. lucky huh? however it will be down in the mid 40's on Friday night so it's gonna be cold. if your camping @ Randy's be sure and dress warm they are also expecting 20 - 30 mph winds! that could really work against us @ the track (unless it's a tail wind)

So sorry to hear that, Tony. You had better make it down next year! ;D
I'll actually be staying overnight on Saturday, I have some big plans for Sunday. Tyler won't be able to come, he has too much going on.
Wait, so does this mean that the Springfield, MO meet will be without a 2G again??? Rob! Jack! Andy! Save us!

Hope you feel better Tony! We will all get to meet up sometime. Maybe someday the 2 midwest meets could have one together in St Louis. That would be in the middle for most everyone. Looks like it's going to be another all Classic meet!

I was the one who suggested that we tear the muffler off, so naturally I'm willing to help. Straights on the Aurora sound great, I'm interested to see what they sound like on a Grand Am. I have a couple things that I'd like to look at too. My horn works intermittently and I think I need to clean my multi switch, but that's the second priority. First and foremost I need to do the passkey bypass... I'm getting the "clean key" message once a day (at least) now even though I got a brand new key made. I have to start it with the remote start all the time now... yeah. My itenerary: - Wake up Friday at 6am
- Shower, eat, pack for the meet 6:15-7:30
- Study then take a Thermodynamics quiz 8:00-10:00
- Try to stay awake in Calc 2 10:00-11:00
- Depart KU. Make a stop in Leawood to get my tent, sleeping bag, and say hi to my dog 11:00-12:30
- Depart Leawood for Springfield 12:30-4:00
- Find somewhere to wash the bugs and gunk off of my car before I show up at Randy's 4:00-4:30 (at least)
- Show up at Randy's ready to rumble around 5 at the latest.
I can't wait... only two more days of class before the meet. I cleaned, paint treated, polished, and waxed yesterday. Ashley looks beautiful, hopefully you guys will like her even more this year. ;D

Whoa! This is gonna be fun. I am a tad behind, I have been slammed with work the last 2 weeks. I still have to put an alternator on another Aurora tonight and tomorrow so Paula can make it. Don't get excited guys, she is a little older. I still have to wash, claybar, and wax my black '99. And I have taken Friday off to make it a little easier on me. I am having a blast, though, this is gonna be fun. I tried to call Lionvista last night and didn't get an answer, I will call him again today.
