I believe there have been three "Auroras in Aurora" meets, but someone will have to confirm this. In past years it has been a one-day meet but I believe that it is going to be a two day thing this year.
The meet in Springfield, MO is a separate meet. We've done it two years in a row now. The first meet was a one-day event but last year we made a weekend out of it. We went to a car show in Aurora, MO, took some pictures on Route 66, Went to a drag strip... it was a blast. We don't have a thread for that one yet, that meet isn't until October.

This coming year will be the "3rd Annual" meet in Aurora, IL. You can see photos and details on the first two in the ACNA Meet Photo Album thread. Good times! and what's the deal on Springfield? You mean the Springfield, MO meets? Those usually happen in the Fall sometime, the last two in October and RandyT's (a forum member here) and he had a quick meet in June too. Not sure what his plans (or anyone else from that area) are for this year. A T-shirt would be cool, the idea has been tossed around but I don't think there's ever been a single design agreed upon by members. Can you whip up any quick designs?

Certainly. although the forecast is pretty ominous for the next couple days, and all the good software is at school (last quarter for my Associates in Graphic Design). I was thinking both an event design and also a club logo design using that logo at the top of the page. Could do a reverse version for lighter color shirts. Polos, too, maybe? I'm sure Cafe Press would be happy to help. Just a thought.

In your profile there is an option to change the website skin... If you change it to one with a white background then you'll see a white logo at the top. I like the idea though. My aunt was going to help us get a logo working for shirts and stuff but if you want to give it a go then be my guest! I'm the one who runs the cafepress stuff for the club, if you send completed stuff to me I'll try it out to see if it works.

Good plan! As I said before I don't think I'll be going to the IL meet this year but I will be going to Springfield assuming everything is on schedule.

Any club meet can be considered "official" as far as I'm concerned, if you have a gathering of members that own/enjoy Auroras and belong to this forum. No meets have to be specifically endorsed or arranged by "the club" to count or anything.

I second the motion. So the one in October would be the 4th annual meet, I guess?
I talked to him on the phone a couple days ago. The meeting is still a go, but we'll discuss details when it gets closer to it.

I second the motion. So the one in October would be the 4th annual meet, I guess? I'd say the 3rd Annual since the very first one was a different time of year (summer) and called a "quick meet" according to the thread title and ACNA Meets Photo Album. But this is getting confusing now, as we're discussing the Springfield, MO meet within the Aurora, IL meet thread. ;D

So is Scotty barred from the meets, since he went all rogue and sold off the 'Rora? At least mine was wrecked. I didn't mean to get rid of it.

Driveling while complaining about driveling... what a concept. ;D
I apologize for getting us off track, I shouldn't have discussed Springfield so much in this thread. Lets cut it out, guys!

Give your self an infraction for thread crapping. Looks like we may have a newbie for the meet. rour99 just joined and he is about 40minutes from the meet site.

I tried to meet up with Scotty while he was in Rockford recently...but I got snubbed J/K Scotty! ;D I was probably working while he and his fam was here and they still had a 2 hour drive back home. btw, the 3rd Annual Aurora's in Aurora Illinois is just 3 months away!! who is coming?

I'll certainly consider making the trip. Might be closing in on this STS in the next week or so. Do y'all mind having an outsider join?
I still wish I drove an Aurora -- especially that Blk/Blk 03 I found -- just can't find a solid replacement quickly enough!

^^ After your comments about ME, I don't know...
Wait a minute, I'll be in a Chrysler for pete's sake. At least you will still be in a GM! ;D Javi needs to bring the 300M Special so he and I can have an ACNA Chrysler Division meet.

UUhhgg. Keep it up and Chryslers will be going the way of Oldsmobile. What time are we starting this year. 11 am?? ;D I have 2 Graduation parties to attend that weekend. So, only if we meet early and get Pics in before eating, I will be able to make it. ;D Hey, It takes time to get them on & off the trailer, you know. May have a third this year, if this darn "D" gets over soon. Kay, thanks for not mentioning we had gotten together while we were up your way in Rockford! See ya! ;D

Scotty is the meet in Batavia (I mean 'Aurora') a one day meet this year. Is it about a 3 hour drive from us? I liked the pic w/ the Aurora water tank, was that a different meet than last year? I hope to be a new one at the meet if the stars align. Is there a charge/fee to particpate (incidental charges?). Hopefully will have my window working again by then. Still need to get a volt meter. Sounds like you guys had a blast last year. Saw an Aurora tonight, parked next to mine, Aurora's just seem to attract other Aurora's . It was a little rough. Could not tell you the color, unusual, have seen it posted here but not sure what is it called (not gray, but kind of). Missing hub cap, back right.

So far we've just done a one day meet, more like early afternoon into the evening for whoever stays later. No charge, just show up! The water tower photos were done in Aurora (obviously) which is a short drive from the Les Arends Forest Preserve. If you're coming from Bloomington, it's less than 2 hours to get there. Very reasonable drive. We'll already be up in the area at a campground in Shabbona (about 30 minutes west) because it's close to some other family we're visiting. The forest preserve meet spot is a very nice location! Nice pavilion, shady trees, and a playground for the kids.

Contrary to what I said previously I'm going to try to make it up there this year. I'm working now and I have a little cash in my pocket so I might be able to make it. I'll probably end up going through Iowa to make sure Tyler gets his new 2G there as well. ;D
