You should try and stop by for a couple hours, I want to see that Jag!
Yeah I'm pretty sure I'll be able to go. Crazy right? However I will ONLY drive up there if someone has blueberry surprise waiting for me. ;D

^^ Depending on your schedule, I'm sure you could still stop by since you are pretty close. Last couple years we met up around lunchtime, but hung out for at least a few hours between the park cookout, photos, and cruise. Some people left then, but others returned for game playing and more socializing in the evening.

Just wondering, what is the deal with making it a weekend meet? I have a long drive ahead of me and I'll be coming up on Friday anyway but who else will be coming up that early? Would a few of you locals want to meet up on Friday evening at all and just hang out?

Weekend = more people can attend generally. I know we (my whole family) will be up there early, coming up Thursday evening and camping at Shabbona Lake State Park until Sunday. It's about 40 mins away from the meet location, but the nicest & cheapest campground in the area that I know about. We will also be visiting friends & family in the Aurora area so that's why we're making a long weekend of it.

Update: I'm officially coming. I'll be driving up Friday and staying overnight in a tent (Probably with you guys somewhere around your RV stall, Scott. if that's okay with you that is. ;D)
The specifics are still pending. I have a lot of stuff to fix before June. Depending on whether or not Zach is back I may go through IL and pick him up if he doesn't have a reliable car. If he isn't back then I'll go through Iowa and meet up with tpunk, I have family up there so I'll be close to a resting point if something happens to my car on the way up.
I'm excited though! It should be fun!

This is part of the whole midwest meet experience. Do you not recall last years Midwest meet thread? Some 40 something pages long right? As long as you and your purple aurora get there thats all that matters. ;D

Apologies, up front, for seeming so demanding!?! Make sure this is an Early Meet. Start meeting about 10:30 to 11. We have a Graduation Party to go to the same day. Both are important to us, but the Grad party rules slightly higher. Looking to cook for lunch (by 12:30) ;D & cruise to the Aurora Water Tower before 2. ;D We will need to be loaded and leave by 3 pm for the Grad party (which started at 1). Sorry for being this way this year. You guys know I am always accommodating and am just trying to get Our Aurora Meet into my plans, too. I know I will be cutting it close all the way around. Help with loading & unloading the Trailer Queens, always presents a little work (about 30 minutes) and we appreciate all the help we get from you guys. I am also throwing a Grad Party for my Daughter in Channahon the following day, so I am hoping I am not trying to plan too much for one weekend. (Family coming in from out of state for both of these Grad parties.)

Well since we NEED your 2-3 Auroras there then meeting up a little early shouldn't be a big deal! We could even do the on-site photos before lunch, eat and hang out awhile, then cruise to the water tower.

We had the largest turnout last year at any ACNA Meet. 10 cars total IIRC, 5 Classics and 5 2nd-gens. I really think that everyone who said they would show up, showed up.

It'll be good to have you! I believe the address is earlier in the thread, I'll try and find it.
**edit** I couldn't find an actual address for it in this year's or last year's threads. Oldsnut, do you have an exact address for the preserve that will take us right to the shelter for the meet, or close enough that we can find it pretty easily? Or should I send an email to the contact on the Preserve website and see if they have an exact address?
I google-mapped it and found the preserve but I'm not sure by looking at it where the shelter is.

I always felt I could - Mind Meld - with Hans. Thanks Kay, but how will I ever thaw this Carbonite. {Mind melding with a computer, to communicate with you guys} If I thaw it myself, would that be me making too much of a Carbon Foot Print for planet Terra?

Sorry I haven't been responding more but I am dealing with trying to get back to normal after surgery if there is such a thing for me. (Shut up Kay!) Not a PEEP!! Plus making sure nobody dropped the ball in regards to my benefits, family re-union and Alero Show & Stravaganza keeping me busy. It is all making for a jam packed June. Here is the link from last years meet. aurorah.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Local&action=display&thread=15167Forest Preserve link below and click on aerial view to get a better idea of how it is laid out. Well I hate to be the one to break this news (especially after my bragging about the stellar attendance last year) but I will not be able to attend the Meet. Don't worry you can still all come. ;D ha. It was going to be a long weekend for us visiting family up in that northern IL area, but we learn they'll be gone to an East Coast vacation that week and now we have other family passing through central IL the same weekend that we'd really like to see. I'm afraid there's too many competing factors and something's got to give. FWIW we would have only been there to show our smiling faces and the Pacifica, since I don't have the Aurora anymore.

Enjoy family time, Scott! Its too bad you can't make it. So who all will be camping out? I think I may stay at a hotel Saturday night if Scotty won't be camping. I'm going up with a few buddies from the Cobalt SS club from Kansas City and I'll be staying in a hotel with them Friday night. They just happen to be having a meet on the same weekend about an hour from Aurora.
