The joust is the highlight of the festival. Been there several times over the years. Good fun!!! The lances they use are made of 2" diameter pine and they do knock each other off the horses.

glad i could entertain you the other day when i was working on my car my dog brought a dead baby bunny by me so i took it and threw it over the fence. a few minutes later i hear a noise that i knew was another bunny so i rushed over and saved it. i looked around for ever for a hole ion the ground where the nest must be to no avail. i really wanted to put it back so that it had a chance but since it could have been under my shed i decided against that since i see snakes there all the time. long story short i'm raising a bunny (for now) i keep it in a sink with towels so it can snuggle up and hide under them. at first i had it on a table in a big plastic bowl but it got out and fell into my trash can. then i kept it in my sock drawer for a while. this summer there was 3 or 4 born under a chair in my front yard. a few weeks ago i was mowing and flushed a bunch from a nest. my dog got a hold of one of those. with car problems been having i can't make it to a pet store so i been using milk from the store. i get the milk to room temperature first then i feed it everyday with a Visine eye dropper! i didn't expect it to live this long but it's already going on a week. it's the size of a mouse and it's eyes are open. it will crawl up my shirt when i watch tv and tickle me. i know when it's hungry, it will lick my fingers. lol taking a nap after drinking some milk

the size seems ok. 880x660 is perfect size to fill the screen and not use the bar to scroll.

some MO. managed deer hunt pics from over the weekend. this is a special hunt for disabled hunters only and you have to get drawn for it. for people such as myself who don't have a 40 caliber or larger black powder gun, one is provided for you. day one: just before sunrise overlooking a pond surrounded by soybean fields boy there was a ton of frogs and i thought of you YVONNE! this big garter snake ate some baby frogs on the pond bank. then it crawled up this sapling to sun itself for a while just 3-4 feet in front of me it stayed there until a gust of wind came up and it lost his balance and fell off. i guess even snakes can be clumsy. day 2: i moved to the bean field across from the pond since the deer were moving on the edge of that field. it's amazing how fast the sun rises and light changes. i only had about one minute to capture the light coming through the fox tails and turning them red. at around noon i missed a head shot on a doe at 137 yards (range finder confirmed) she was laying down in a dip in the tall grass facing me head on. i was actually moving my chair and equipment closer to the end of the field where she was when i saw a flash from the white of her ears. i never practice standing shots with shooting sticks and i have never shot the gun before because it was a black powder / muzzle loader hunt only and i used the dept of conservation's rifle. the wind was blowing pretty bad (15-20) and i couldn't hold steady on her nose. i kept waiting for her to stand up and turn broad side but she never did so i took the shot but missed. after screwing up chances for that field until dark i took a break and grabbed some lunch and went in to the conservation dept to get an elevated blind. i done some walking around and found 2 main trails the deer were using to cross between some corn and bean fields. i set it up between the two trails in the elevated blind so i could see over the high grass and humps in the field. at 6:30 my new spot paid off when a doe and button buck eased in on me. they were not on either of the trails but rather following a fence row across the field from my position. frantically i got set up the best i could as i was facing the other direction towards the trails. i nailed the little buck which i mistook for a doe. it made it about 50 yards and collapsed. the big doe (mamma) ran the other way but came right back. she was looking for the button buck. with only 8 minutes left of regulation shooting time and getting dark fast, i took a shot at her too since there were 2 tags available for the hunt. i somehow missed her and tore up the tree behind her, something that would never happen with my own guns. she proceeded to get down on all fours and crawled under the fence and disappeared before i could get the primer cap out. i was surprised to find that the deer i shot was a little buck. i say little because it's the smallest deer i have ever taken but the small ones really taste the best. shot specs: range finder confirmed 107.9 yards CVA Primo 50. cal - 1:28 twist 100 grains of Triple 7 coneless 250 grain sabot Nikon Pro Staff 4 power scope 2 days, 13 hunters, 3,000 acres - 3 deer taken a nice average sized yearling. it was kinda fat but these picture were taken after field dressing

PIC OF THE DAY OCTOBER 13jazz and spazz are my 2 praying mantis, spazz is antsy and crazy acting but jazz is laid back and calm. jazz just made herself an egg sack so i guess i'll have 50 - 100 baby praying mantis soon. i don't know how long they take to hatch but i guess my house will be infested ;D they don't bother me since they eat other insects. she likes to hang out on it a lot, only leaving to grab herself a quick grasshopper once in a while. if i knew of a place...i could sell them because farmers buy them since they eat so many pests. unless i can find a better lid for the cage they will get out since they can crawl up glass. i thought i might take the nest and put it under my house. that way they could find spiders and stuff to eat. they are so tiny when they hatch i won't be able to feed them. with winter coming on they will die unless kept warm somewhere. PIC OF THE DAY OCTOBER 14my next door neighbors have a variety of animals, misc. pics around the barnyard Billy: they got 5 new goats but Billy, the youngest one is the only one that will come to the fence. one of 2 dozen pigeons: Fancy feet or Fancy for short. Fancy: Sugar: Sugar likes me and will run up to the fence when he sees me. i always try to find something to feed him. This time i had some cucumbers that went bad. they also have dogs, cats, geese, chickens and turkeys. PIC OF THE DAY OCTOBER 15was a good day for clouds looking east as the sun is going down looking west as the sun is going down

I am an alien life form. I pray to Insectus my overlord, and soon we will take control of your planet. I, Insectus, have heard the pleas of my subjects. It will be just like when we stormed Egypt thousands of years ago! Gather the army, We attack on Halloween...........Mantis Maximus, captain of the swarms at your service Insectus. Halloween it is then, the troops await your summons.
