I did not see a thread for this so I am starting one. A couple of the lights behind my instrument cluster have gone out and I want to replace them. I have seen some LED type replacements on Ebay but not sure what colors to get. Are the original lights blue in color or are they white and shine through a blue cluster?

What year aurora? Most of the bulbs are white, some have a blue covering on them. In either case, I'd plan on replacing them all while you're in there so you can get a consistent lighting. You can even change the color if you desired. I did blue on my old '99. Check this thread aurorah.proboards.com/thread/26801?page=1

I have a 2002 Aurora. Hmm I have a soldering iron. Can I un-solder them myself and put new ones in? Yes I would like to replace all at the same time and I was thinking of the blue LED "Wedge" style I have seen on ebay. Obviously some will be red and amber such as the check engine light and such.

If you want to convert your cluster to all LED remember you will need a proper resistor for each. I used SMD resistors as a radial resistor have some clearance issues. For my LEDs I used 3mm diffused white so all the overlay colors appeared as normal. Remember the OEM halogen light is more yellow so when it shines through the blue overlay it looks green. The redline part of the tach and "E" for empty are red overlay.
On a 2G you also need to remove the needles for temp, speed, rpm, and fuel. They are a PITA to get on in the correct spot so all the gauges read correctly. To get the speed needle correct you will need to have the clear plastic off (open faced) and driving with one hand on the wheel to put the needle at the appropriate speed (hopefully you have a GPS, speedometer app or police radar trap sign handy). For the tach the car usually idles around 600-700 rpm.
**you can't have the car off the place any of the needles. When the car is off all the needles drop to a resting position. Putting them back in this resting position will NOT give you the correct placement. I speak from experience and driving the wrong speed for a couple of days before I figured it out.**
Before you do this I would have a full tank of gas so you know the needle goes at full.
After you convert the cluster make sure your car is fully warmed up and put the temp needle halfway between hot and cold. Of course this is pending any coolant issues.
Lastly you can put the clear plastic face back on but being careful not to over tighten the screws to pinch the black cluster face causing the needles to stick and jump. There is definitely a sweet spot between how far to push the needles on and how tight the screws need to be tightened on the clear plastic face.

Or you can use TECH2 scanner to calibrate.

Or you can use TECH2 scanner to calibrate. Are you starting a rental program? That would be awesome...not so much for shipping though!
