Still have this error code P088 showing twice on my Acton scanner as I reported in this thread aurorah.proboards.com/thread/31063/P088 (E088) .... Torque converter clutch did not disengage when commanded OFF by PCM Also, 66 cruise control engaged came on once again but I didn't have cruise control on. Once in awhile the AC comes on by itself even though I didn't turn it on I am hoping it is a wiring issue and not a transmission issue The car drives fine - does not stall or anything. This Cadillac guy had a nearly identical issue after replacing a weak battery also: caddyinfo.ipbhost.com/topic/23379-strange-multiple-codes-and-datastream-readings/I'm wondering if I should risk a 30 minute drive to a GM dealer to have them diagnose exactly what it is. I am afraid that if it is actually transmission issue, I could ruin the transmission. Are there any other data points on my Actron CP9145 scanner that could provide clues as whether not the transmission is affected? I watched 'TCC Duty Cycle' go from 25% in idle/parked up to 75% when im at about 50 - 60 mph. How do I determine TCC slip speed?

More info from the Actron scanner
Codes Present: N/A (showed 2 error codes) Service Now Light: Off (service now light is actually on) Vehicle Speed: 117 (while in park and idling)
So... think its a bad PCM/ECM ?

117 mph? You may try unplugging the speed sensor and see if it changes.. Maybe the speed sensor is bad. The converter lockup is related to it. Also the scanner could be haywire. Try testing with a different one.

The 1995 service manual says it is mounted on the transaxle case extension facing towards the right wheel. It is mounted with a single 10 mm bolt. I have never noticed it under the car, should have a wiring connector going to it.
