its bars leak headset repair kit and you can only buy it at advance auto for about $70. be sure to get the three step kit. I'm using this stuff right now in my aurora. and the previous owner had it in there when i bought it and drove it 3000 miles before it went away. it has a three thousand mile and three month warranty. I'm using it again while i get the other engine ready. -josh

Isn't there a possibility of clogging oil routes in the block and heads?

I believe that type stop leak is adding in the coolant system, not in the oil.

I'd stay away from it! It doesn't work on head gasket problem the Aurora's are known for. PLUS it will clog the radiator, water pump, overflown tank, etc...been there done that...replaced the engine, pump, overflow tank, etc. We didn't have to replace the radiator; it was practically new when we tried the stuff so the hubby flushed the stuff thru the radiator and didn't let it sit in there (I believe overnight).

yea, id stay away from that stuff! if you have already put it in, id recommend flushing that junk out... it does more damage to our engines then good....

Once you have a confirmed head gasket problem do what you can to keep it on the road, at that point what harm are you really causing?

I would agree with you Jason if he planned on running it 'til it died and disposed of it at that point. What happened with my car was I ruined a brand new water pump (I was fortunate that my mechanic did get it covered under warranty when in reality it shouldn't have been), over flow tank, and had my hubby not flushed the "stuff" out of the radiator I would bet it would have been shot too! So now we are talking several hundred dollars in parts. Sounds like Josh has another engine about ready to drop so unless he is ready and willing to shell out for possibly clogging other good parts, I wouldn't use the stuff. Good Luck! Heck, you have a truck and an LSS! Park the Aurora and drive one of them

I'm only running this stuff while i get my replacement engine ready to go in. it works great Ive driven it for three days since it was put in and temp hasn't gotten over 200. i am going to flush out the overflow tank when i put in the other engine. i highly suggest this stuff to any one with a head gasket problem and needs to buy some time to get stuff in order.

Can you provide a link or part number for the exact product you're using? I think I'm going to give it a shot, just to get me through winter.
With regard to bars leak destroying water pumps and coolant reservoirs, that sounds more hokey than the odds of the product actually working. Sounds like something else was going on there, maybe even an unscrupulous mechanic saw you coming.
If the product consistently caused those effects, I'm sure there would be a class-action lawsuit in no time. Caveat Emptor and RTFM!

my car had this stuff in it when i bought this spring. i drove it 3000-4000 miles and then it went bad. when trying to fix the car ( i was in denial about head gaskets) i changed the water pump thermostat. they both looked new. thermostat was 3 years old and so was the water pump. it had no gunky build up pr anything. i can get some pics of them if any one want to see .
