hex key? not sure really, but i remember mine being a 13-15mm (i could be wrong) probably am! it's been so long, almost 6 months......... my backs spun in real nice with the fork end of a balljoint splitter........... ;D that was my "special tool"! Definitely a 3/8" hex on the '96. Real snug fit too, back when fasteners were made with care. I used a Bondhus "balldriver" hex key (otherwise known as an Allen wrench) once I cracked it loose. That allows some angle in to the hole. A socket driven hex would have been faster but I didn't have one. For the rears...I bought this universal "piece of Chinese dice" for the Ford Tortoise. Hopefully one side will fit the "bomber", lol.

I'm feelin better! When I did my brakes a few years back I had help from a friend that was a service tech at a local stealership. He was able to "borrow" a piston "turn in" kit specifically for our brakes.

My new to me Aurora was treated to a really good drink of well needed water and I added the ACN recommended Red Line Water Wetter. Yes, I did see a temperature drop of at least 10+ degrees! This is great, as I live in Fort Lauderdale and it was almost 90 today! I cleaned some of the iron deposits off of one factory wheel that looked Bronze and it is actually metallic Silver! The iron deposits will come off and this is very good news! It is going to take a lot of work, but the results are worth it!

What are you using to clean it? I have a wheel from another unnamed vehicle that has a "coating" of brake pad/shoe deposits possibly mixed with fluid thats almost baked on.

I have been using Simple Green, All Purpose Cleaner from the autop parts store. I purchased the small squirt bottle and the large refill jug. I am using a lot off it and letting it soak for a few minutes. I then scrub it with a soft brush, rinse ans repeat again. It is slow but it is working. I also tested it on my dented fender, it is removing some of the rust from the paint. I think I will have to find a good rubbing compound safe for clear coat to get it all! Any recommendations?

Cool, thanks! I have several versions of Simple Green, samples from work. To be used at a ratio of 10:1 to 150:1, can be used fully concentrated but get the surface wet first. I was hoping to try the foaming aerosol version today but the weather sucked. No, I didn't run out and buy these! The small one is actually a disinfectant/virucidal/cleaner/deoderizer.

Wow, what did I do to my Aurora today, that is one I am glad to post about. A friend and I went to the local you pull it. I found a red 95 Gen 1 Aurora. Got front door handles, compass mirror, trunk shocks, oxygen sensor, high pressure power steering hose and trunk cargo net.
My front door now open from the outside, my rear view/compass mirror plop around at every stop or speed hump. My trunk lid holds up. We still need to install the power steering hose and the oxygen sensor.
The front fenders and hood were damaged from and engine fire. Some gorilla broke out the front windows and destroyed the front door panels. The dash and glove box are good.
I am going back for the drivers front seat. It is natural leather, the passenger seat is good and the back of the rear is good. There is even a pair of original front floor mats with the Aurora Logo!
If anyone is really wanting something, let me know and i will check to see if it is available? this is not an Autobahn model

Well, the "crystal" is a low odor/no odor product ever bit as strong apparently. The "foaming" I did try on said wheels, didn't do much to remove the rusty-brake-dust frosting, but I didn't let it sit very long. I need to try again and let it sit for 10 min.
