Am I the only one who goes on road trips?
You guessed it. I am off to Vancouver again! This time I'm rolling with better people. And It's going to be a long one! Prob about 1900km to Vancouver (taking a really long route this time) and 1200km coming back. Roughly 1900 miles round trip.
Destinations included in this trip/thread
Fernie Kelowna Nelson Chilliwack Vancouver
We plan to ride maybe 6 mountains in the time frame of a week. I leave for work again on Tuesday!
Wish my Aurora luck!
I just changed the oil, put on bravadaurora's like new rims. Everything is good to go!

Made it to Fernie. I have been a hurting POS since friday. I drove 10 hours from Saskatchewan to home. 8 hours later I left for 8 hour drive to Fernie.
Tried to save some time by taking back roads. It completely backfired. We had the Aurora pushing through 36" of snow. Got stuck trying to turn around to get out. but what 2wd car wouldn't get stuck with 2 feet of powder.
Finally made it out of there and back onto the main highway. Couple hours later we arrived in Fernie. Spent the first night at the Raging Elk hostel. Drank like fish and partied with all the townsfolk. Woke up and rode. Found a condo to rent on the hill. And here we are after day 2. I don't have much for pictures as it's been a blur since I left. I got lots of us on the hill.
Tomorrow is Nelson, Chilliwack a day later. Should be pretty fun! I will post pics and share some GPS data regarding vertical feet and distances travelled on the hill a little later!

Well the trip went from awesome, to AMAZING to UNREAL.. Then I got sick.. I started the trip off recovering from Strep Throat. I guess working 14 hour days and then driving 1000 miles pretty much straight isn't what a healing body needs! I started to get flu like symptoms when we hit Nelson. Although it was the most incredible snowboarding I have ever experienced I was in pretty rough shape. We drove from Nelson to Kelowna that night and that's where I crashed. Slept about 12 hours then went boarding for the last time. My body was aching, I was suffering from serious hot/cold sweats and I could barely eat. So we decided to just call it a trip and head home! Fortunately for me the weather was not giving us any more snow and it seemed like a waste of $$ to go all the way to Vancouver for a crap day of riding. Would have been nice to see Northofyou again, but I'm sure it won't be long till I'm out there again. Here is the view from 6,316' Also at 6,316' this cafe. I laughed at the voters of the sign. Speed Demon Jessica This is a result of speed demon jess Cruising to Nelson to ride Whitewater Jess enjoying the views from Wal-Mart in Nelson Same spot with the car in view Just missed an avalanche! Roadtrip Must. A&W! Stayed at this crazy Hostel in Fernie. Went partying and met this crazy chick D&B DJ Benny Page performing - We became pretty good friends because I was wearing my Arsenal (European Football) jersey and it was his favorite team!

So you went to my town huh?? ;D It was full of long haired hippies and clouds of pot smoke! lol good people besides that it was probably one of the more beautiful towns along our path! Despite the fact that we walked into a swingers club. You know you're in the wrong place when they have trays of condoms in the bathrooms. We quickly drank our beers and vanished! Nice pics brother ;D some great ones of those mountains! So whats up with the puppet on the "crazy chicks" hand? That was Sadie (the girl) and I believe that was one of the characters from Lambchops Play-along TV show. All I can say was I was about 8 pints + and a few cans of beer deep when she decided to put on a show. Didn't even know I took the photo until I was uploading them to my pc
