Just an FYI. This is in a 2002 Aurora with 3.5L I tried an oil additive Called Friction Free 3000. I drive 184 miles each way to work and keep pretty good fuel usage records. (Only drive 3-5 times per month round trip) www.marketamerica.com/index.cfm?action=shopping.wpGoShopProducts&skuID=6530&parentCategoryID=40024On the first trip I saw a 3.5 MPG increase. The product has soft metals in it that fills scoring in cylinder walls and prevents dry wear at start up. I had someone use it in a Passat with 190,000 miles on it and they said it felt like they had a new engine because the compression was greatly improved. My son tried it in a 4 cylinder and told me he got 4 MPG and his fill up intervals went from 7 to 11 days. (He is in California and VERY sensitive to MPG) I only have to add it at oil changes and I'm using Amsoil so my intervals are extended. The stuff worked and I will keep using it. I went from using 1/3 of a tank from my fill up point to using just over 1/8. It is great to get home with over 3/4 of a tank left in the car after filling up at the same point that I have for 3 years! Just thought I would throw it out here. Nice looking Aurora!!
I was getting home with 26.0 - 27.0and now I am seeing 29.5 - 30. (sometimes a 28.7). Of course this is keeping my lead foot out of the floor at 65 and just under 2000 RPM. But even if I get stupid and come home at 80 the mileage is still greatly improved. I can now fill up at the last stop in Jersey, drive home (central PA) and around town for a few days, drive back to work and get back to my filling point at just under a 1/4 tank. Since I drive the same route every time I can see that even in heavy traffic I am doing much better.
And I know this would be hard to prove but I swear the engine is running quieter than before, even at 65.
Rick
p.s. Just thinking I should have put this under Products/Services?

I had a 2000 Tundra till some #@**$! Hit me and totaled it on the turnpike. I was pissed until my brother-in-law showed me this car he had to sell from the in-laws. I fell in love with the Aurora and I question the sanity of the people who made the decision to can the Olds brand!! Can you imagine the 2012 Aurora?

Have you noticed longer warm up times? I used Slick 50 in an older Cutlass I had about 20 years ago. I had a slight improvement in mileage, nothing like you've seen, but also it also took longer to get up to temp, probably due to less friction.

After checking up on the site I am half tempted to purchase a bottle myself! Do you add it to a full crank case? Or do you only change 7 quarts of oil?

With a 6 or 8 you use the whole bottle, but it's only 8 oz so just do a normal oil change. I haven't noticed any increase in warm up time.
If you buy a bottle sign up as a preferred customer and you get cash back. use bro5mo@gmail.com as the referral email and I can help you with any questions.
I know people that have been using this for 10-12 years and they swear by it.

i might have to try this stuff. that is an awesome mpg increase. although it seems like my mpgs are doing really good right now. when i drove back to school a couple weeks ago, by the time i got here, i was averaging 29.4 mpg. this is at least 3 mpgs more that what i usually get, but i was following my parents all the way here, so there may have been some drafting effects. either way, i can always use a few more mpgs.

When you stop using lots of AC, the mileage really jumps as well. I run the same long run quite frequently too. In the fall on vent, I've been able to get upwards of 29. Dead summer with tons of AC, I'm down in the 24-25 range. COLD weather, sometimes even down to 23. I've been tracking it for 60,000+ miles.

this product sounds just like RSR Ran Up which is unavailable in the US. F1 has been using it for years. it is a milky looking liquid full of nano technology(don't ask me ) that does just what you're talking about. it fills in tiny imperfections inside the motor and is super slick. just google it and you'll see where it can actually gain you 4-9 HP due to less friction. there were numerous dyno tests with RSR Ran Up and it improved HP in every car. of course more hp = better fuel mileage usually. not always of course but modest gains of 3-12 hp usually help mpg. also Amsoil is supposed to boost HP slightly too. RSR Ran Up is more expensive and takes one bottle per 2 liters of displacement. ie: 1 bottle in a 2.0 honda and 2 bottles in a 4.0 aurora. in closing i totally believe you that it improved your MPG. i am also willing to bet that it reduced internal friction and freed up a few horses to do so. thanks for posting links. i'm getting some!

no way I would put that crap in my motor. We have low friction pistons and do not need additives helping our piston rings to gum or stick. We already have to beat on it sometimes to keep the rings free.. I think a good switch to 10w 30 full syn mobil 1 or something will give you the mileage. BTW my car gets great mileage even with some oil consumption a little high.

my car is killing me with mpg. hwy i average 22. city 16-19. i cant deal with this anymore. i may have to try this/ That is extremely respectable mileage for a fairly high-performance V8 engine. Nothing to be ashamed of, and certainly no reason to start spending money and dumping unknown substances in your engine. More snake oil. I can't believe people still fall for this nonsense. ^^ Gotta agree on this. Regular maintenance and care is the best way to increase and maintain high fuel mileage. There have probably been dozens of these products with magical MPG claims over the years, and none of them stay on the shelves (or on TV infomercials ) for more than a few years. That's gotta tell you something. I bet if you did enough research, you'd probably find they are all made by the same corporation and they just change the name every so often to make it seem "new and improved" ...

HID's are a must bro5mo! I love them! ;D Skiiirt and I both have the 02's and are enjoying the lights from ddmtuning.com. Have had mine for over a year now and not one complaint! well the other drivers do! Hahaha.
Just like your son, I'm on the same coast just further north by about a 14-16 hour drive. I only muster a mere 22 mpg at max with the 4.0, Paul brags to me about his 25-26 he gets with his 4.0. I do live in the mountains and drive the girl pretty hard though (usually 75+ mph when conditions suit on the highways). Nice to hear someone is almost getting 30!!! Im a tad jealous
