Okay, so my car has been randomly shutting off. It has done this twice since I got it. but today, I was going into a gas station to get a drink (didn't get gas) and I go to start my Aurora, and it won't! it made a really quiet noise trying to turn over, but it wouldn't. After that, it chimed 3 times and said "Theft System Fault" on my DIC. My fiancee's dad's best friend came to help me and he checked my battery and alternator with one of those tester do-dads and it said it was delivering 15 volts, so what could be wrong?? Sorry if this is in the wrong area or has been asked before.. Also, the owner before me had subwoofer sand junk and there is also this random little light that lights up blue when it does this? everyone i have asked thinks they previous owner intalled an aftermarket security system? Thoughts please? they say my battery and alternator is good... so idk..

Have it scanned for any codes pertaining to theft system faults. That'll eliminate any guesswork.

15 volts? your battery is over charged a good state on a battery is 12.7 volts anything higher is your alternator is putting out too much of a charge to it.
thats the first ive seen a light in the rear like that I don't even think thats an aftermarket alarm that just seems like something someone did as a DIY type project.
if theft system fault is on its because your key is probably not making contact on the inside of the terminals when your trying to turn the vehicle over are you using the master aurora key or the valet key?

Thats an aftermarket alarm I'm about 100% sure, mine does the exact same thing (with the blue light my light in fact looks almost exact to that), take a look under your dash under the steering wheel, might be able to see it. I betcha its wired into the stock system somehow and causing the fault.

yeah, i know! it does it all the time. and that light has only gone off a few times that the car has done this and i just noticed FOR SURE today, but it never went off again after I tried to start it a second time. do you know how i can unhook it? here is a pic of the wiring underneath the hood the guy said was also linked to it: and idk, the guy just said it was 15. Maybe it is getting too hot and shutting itself off. Is there any way I could have the wrong battery? (LOL idk?) I also have a pic of where it is hooked in underneath the steering wheel, I think:

And i have had it scanned. My check engine light IS on, but all the codes that came up had to do with fuel sensors or something like that. idk. its a mystery to me.

Yup the black thing with the wires coming from it is the horn/speaker for the alarm. Best thing I could say is go under your dash and look for the unit itself and try to find the power or ground wire to it (red or black) and pull that (that will cut the juice to the alarm and maybe then stop it from doing whatever its doing to the factory alarm)

If that doesn't help you might be best off going to a professional alarm installer and having them remove the system

Go under the dash, find the alarm unit, and find the button that resets it. ITs a little push buttonthats attatched to a wire.

Yea hold that button and it will reset your aftermarket system.. i reccomend if you dont have the remote for it tho get it removed ASAP to resolve future problems. Try unplugging the battery for 60 seconds too

x2 - get the aftermarket alarm removed first. Auroras HATE aftermarket alarms. Then clear the codes and look at fixing them. If you still have no start without the alarm, it is highly likely that the cranks sensors are acting up. I have a Dephi one for the 3.5 sitting on the counter waiting to be installed in Intrigue 2.
And to your question - have not seen any folks from Evansville, but I'm about 100 miles east and oldwino is about another 100 miles more east.

I'm about 19 miles less east then Rca, but 17 miles more east than ntrenn. lol Get the alarm removed. Once thats done we can eliminate one possibility and move on to the others.

OKAY YAL! Here's what i found just now: (ignore the crumbs, i havent been able to clean her for a week due to rain lol) Googled the part number, MD-2622. That is to a sound amplifier. ? Do i need to take that out? So, there WAS a sound amplifier and now that dang security system? wtf? what do I do with that thing? there obviously is no amplifier in it now, so someone just left that thing there. It was stuck back behind where that coin thing is under the steering wheel to the left. ALSO, took out my battery, had it checked, and it's fine. IM SO CONFUSED!

that is designed for bass it is called a "bass knob" and yea he just left it there however take it out put it on craigslist or kijiji which ever you use and ull get $20 for it lol.
I personally find their useless as thats why there is a bass knob on your deck no need for a extra knob.
your best bet if your unsure with wireing is to take it somewheres to get the alarm system taken out as that is probably whats causeing your issue

Okay, so i took off the covering underneath the dash and i had to stick my hands in this reeeallllyyy tiny hole, and i found a black box! and i googled the part number or whatever number that was on the front and it said "autopage". I figured out that its a remote start/keyless entry security do-dad? IDK anyway, we unhooked it and my keyless entry still works, so i guess thats good?
IT WONT START AGAIN, btw...
ALSO, none of this ever happened until I got my keyless entry a month or so ago, so could this have anything to do with my problem? cause idk... I need help ):
oh now my alarm is going off and it wont stop... HELP PLEASE

That red wire looks a little thick to be a remote start wire, might have something to do with the amp remote. Have you got it to start yet? I am moving this to the electrical section where you may get more help.
Oh, and mine didn't start for 6 months over something that took me an hour to change, so don't feel embarrassed, lol.

that box that you took off also might of messed something up. im sure by now you got rid of the horn going off. the thing with those remote start boxes with alarms built into them well if you take it out wrong it thinks your stealing the car and won't let you start it.
call up the dealer you had your remote programmed with and tell them you found out your car has an aftermarket alarm system in it and ever since you had them program the remote it won't let you start the car
