Let me tell you the story about our car:
I live in Mexico, in a city called Saltillo, and I went on a vacations to Nuevo Laredo it’s a city on the border with the US and I was going travelling around the city when I saw a car that took my attention a black one full of dust, spider webs on its interior, flat tires, etc., and also in that condition it caught my attention. I asked to the people that lived on the houses near this vehicle who the owner was, I found the owner and I asked him if he can show me the car, we went to the car and I opened the door, I think myself "My god WOW this looks like a cockpit from a plane" and said to myself this car has to be mine and after I turn the key on and lucky of me the car starts, as soon as I saw all those lights on the dashboard any possible doubt disappear, we started the negotiations and the car was mine, but it had a problem with the engine, the oil pressure was too low.
As soon as I bought the car I took it to a car wash and cleaned everything, check levels, etc. I took it a short ride around the city and I notice that everyone was turning their faces to look at my car. After that, I took it to my city, it drives very nice for about a year until suddenly the problems started and my NIGHTMARE began......
The battery didn't maintain the charge, I tough OK it’s the battery lets replace it, I bought a new one but when I was coming to my home the car just died and turned off, I was on a downhill, I couldn't controlled it because the steering wheel was hard to move and the brakes didn't work well so I got smash with a tree, I bought all the pieces that I needed from a Junk Yard in Laredo TX, included an alternator. After that everything seems to be fine but again after a while the oil pressure drops almost to zero. It was time to replace the oil pump, and also with this I made a full repair to the engine it was almost $3,000 dollars in original parts and labor.
Then everything was fine, but Oh bad luck! "Again a Crash"!
We were going around the city with some friends and then one stupid guy came out of nothing across the street... He skip an stop sign and almost hit us... Turn the steering wheel to avoid the crash but we hit the median strip at high speed causing damage on the driver side of the car.
The rim had a fracture and also a lot of parts in that side..
We took it to a body shop from a friend of us to get it repaired..
He told us what were the pieces we need to get.. so we went to a junk yard in Laredo TX to get them and also buy some new pieces we need.
New Mirrors
A lot of pieces
So after this we decided to have it completly painted and detailed, so it's going to look like a brand new Aurora.
So here are some pictures about the progress on the car.
Repaired
Removing paint
All dents are being repaired
Here are some pictures..
Finally painted with the best color:Black with lots of different pearl on it, like the black BMW's the same paint.
Cleaned after paint
-After this crash everything seems to malfunction so we made a full maintenance of the car, from time to time I had been replacing the susp cross member, the control arm, the upper and lower insulators, transmission mounts, radiators, fans, AC compressor, bought the brake steering and water pumps, included some electrical modules, I replace the front and rear shock struts, starter, alternator, IAC valve, harmonic balancer, wheel hub and the list goes on and on.
My house looks like a Junk Yard with all the damaged pieces that we substract from the aurora and the pieces to replace them.
I was forgotten that on this last crash the wheel caps broke and it was almost impossible to get them, so I contact with someone who could make a design of this pieces on a factory that works making pieces on aluminum for the GM. They made the model and make them in pure melted aluminum it was a process that took almost fifteen days. After that we painted them to match the rim color.
After 5 years of taking care of our beloved Aurora we thought it was time to let it go and sell her but destiny didn’t want this for us cause a cousin that hear about this crazy idea told us: !!Do u know what u are trying to do?!!, that car is part of the family we all want her in our lives its been with us and going trough so many things that we just can’t let her go and besides that there’s no other car like that in this city I can’t let you do that!!.
He said: I know one way to make u think that twice! I’m gonna give u as a gift the rims and tires of my Shelby GT 500 2009 the original ones! So everyone who looks at it will be stunned!
So Here is the final product, painted, rims on it, cleaned, hope u like it!!
Me & My brother with the Aurora!
Also as a way to make it better our dad give us a sound system for the car, a JVC kwav60bt stereo, a pair of subwoofers, a pair of 6x9 speakers, a pair of 5 ¼ speakers, a kenwood amplifier and a power acustik amplifier, it sounds excellent!
Since that we knew that our beloved Aurora is going to be with us until she rests in peace!
Here are some of my other rides.. but u know which one is my favorite

Took some time to make this post so I hope u Like my Aurora!
I put a lot of effort, time, money, on this car!
I know u appreciate the Auroras as much as me.
Leave your comments! What do u think about It?
PS. There’s so many other things that we have gone trough with our Aurora that we could almost make a book about it. I will let you know later… The story continues…..
