Just booked my room at the Crowne Plaza. Yes I have been a member for a while, too! Let's make this the best turnout for Auroras EVER!

Crown Plaza rooms for Thurs, Fri at the OCA rate are sold out. Only Sat available. Got into the Holiday Inn Express for Thurs-Sat. They still have group rate rooms.

Andy, I went ahead and modified the thread heading. I, nor many members, were aware that this pertained to the IL meet. So now we know!
I wish I would have caught this 4 months ago! We could have gotten a bit more excitement built up!
Here's my proposal. My father is on the board of trustees with a small town outside of springfield. They have granted us use of the city park for the club to meet at. It would be about 15 minutes to the OCA nationals.
This park is equipped with grill, play ground for the kiddies, and a wonderful gazebo to beat the suns rays. I figured we as a club could meet there, and then begin the drive through the heart of springfield with our convoy.
Being a citizen of springfield, I offer my floor, couch, and misc surfaces for a free nights sleep. Just bring a pillow. (hope you like dogs)
I'm excited at the opportunity to hold this meet in Springfield. It's an area I know well. Which means PLENTY of opportune photos! And of course, I know where the best grub is.

I updated the header with a link here to attract more attention. What's the status of this, Andy? Still planning on having the meet at the OCA Nationals? I think its a good idea as long as they can park all of ACNA together. Do you think that would be a problem?
Hopefully someone can make/find/come up with some sort of ACNA sign? I can design it if someone wants to bring it to the meet and display it.

I wouldn't be able to attend a meet at the OCA Nationals as you have to be a member to enter a car. I'd be down for a normal meet for sure though.

Andy said it would be $30 for a one year membership, it just amounts to whether or not people want to pay that to be a part. A normal meet isn't put of the question either, I'm assuming. I wouldn't come to nationals either, but I wouldn't mind a regular meet. I'm unsure if I can come to either one, though, so don't consider my opinion. ;D

Spoke with Andy on facebook. Looks like he won't be bringing his Aurora down for OCA. Only his Alero.
Those who wish to go to OCA are more than welcome.
I can still host a meet, that wouldn't be an issue. If there is a better date that works for everyone, lemme know! Like I said, the club has access to a family friendly park. Minutes from most anything that could be thought of.
And of course, a place to rest your head. ;D

I can design it if someone wants to bring it to the meet and display it. If someone registers for the OCA Nats they will put all non Senior Preservation Class entries in one area but cannot guarantee the ACNA group would all be parked next to each other. They assign spaces at time of registration. That would make a perfect opportunity to recruit new ACNA members but I don't believe that a sign is proper to display with their bylaws and I think they might find it a little rude also. Remember that you would be at their big party. Tony will be down there with his Pace Car and Old Wino is also attending. I will only have my Final 500 Alero there unless gas prices come down and I really don't feel like paying to register a 2nd car.

Well if members don't end up being interested, is it possible to have the meet in Aurora like usual? Or would you forgo the IL meet this year? It would be unfortunate if ACNAers were there but all sprinkled around. It would be fun to go but my car is a daily driver... It would be out of place at the OCA Nats. It's not in horrible shape but she just rolled over 100k and she shows her age a bit. I feel a lot more comfortable when it's just us, but maybe that's just me haha What do you think?

Many cars in the show have flaws, many of them are daily drivers also. I have seen your car and it is pretty nice compared to many and don't feel it would be out of place. As for Aurora Meet, I don't know when it would happen. I have little time between the Aleromod meet, OCA Nats, Family re-union and I am trying to start my own business. It doesn't leave much time for anything else.

I would be up for another Aurora, IL meet this year, but I don't know about the OCA nationals. I'm sure people could make it Father's Day weekend as in the past

I originally booked my room back in Nov, but work may throw a wrench into my plans. Attending is up in the air right now. Don't plan on cancelling my reservations just yet. Will wait to see if I can still get off work.

I will not be able to make it to the meet due to work. I was looking forward to it, but hope to try again next year.
