Planning some spring projects, (and possible Christmas gifts). Looks like Gabriel 57051 fits, and there is conflicting info depending upon site regarding Monroe 171665 Quik-Strut. Has anyone replaced with these or any other brand that could confirm fitment and part numbers. I'm open to piecing the fronts together having to remove the spring......but thought that the all-in-one was a better option for the non-mechanic types like myself. Thx for any advice.

A one-time bump. Thought this would be an easy one.

None I am aware of other than the gabriels. I would recommend building them up with KYB GR-2 strut as your base. No need to remove the old coil spring, unless you are re-using it?

Halfway down the page on this thread has the supposed part numbers for Gabriel and Monroe. I have it bookmarked for the day I need struts haha.

Hey guys, thanks much. Not sure how I missed that thread when I did a search.
1AAuto was the one online retailer that listed as available. You are correct that the part # is MNSSP00124 and is listed as a replacement for old # Monroe 171665. Yet I am unable to cross-reference that new number to anything available from Monroe. Further the 171665 is still an available product and a call to Monroe claims they don't make one for any year Aurora. Granted thats just some underpaid kid reading whats on his computer screen, but it's enough to still be cautious. Gonna dig more and if it says it fits the compatible cars listed in the other thread, I'll feel better about forking over some monies to the internet.

Monroe's website says that 171665 is for '98-'05 Buick Park Avenue and '98-'99 Buick Riviera; Monroe 171665Same setup, but those were both 3.8V6/4T65E cars, may be a weight thing.
