Hello All!
Recently I was involved in an accident with my Aurora. Somebody decided it would be great to back their oversized pickup into the front of the car and really screwed up the body kit bumper. His insurance company agreed to pay to have the vehicle fixed at my local shop and everything seemed good. Yesterday I got a call from the shop telling me they were going to put a stock bumper on my car. I told them like heck they were going to put a stock bumper on it. I told them there were Aurora body kits easily found on google. When they said they had to use parts in their system i told them I would buy the kit if they installed it. Upon further investigation, the sites with the kit seem to be scams. Furthermore, I can’t find ANYWHERE where this kit is sold. PLEASE HELP! (It’s the kit by Extreme Dimensions)
Thanks.

I assume this is for a Classic? I don't recall ever seeing a kit for the 2G...
You may have to just let them put it back to stock and HOPE you can find one later.

So there’s no where to buy one? I mean, my car has one, so they’re out there. Would it be possible for someone here to sell me one? Or to have that one repaired? (Yes it is the classic)

Haha, I'm not saying impossible but c'mon, a low demand body kit for a 20 year old vehicle? New? Not likely.
But yes, a good body guy (or gal) may be able to fix it if it's not FUBAR...
Insurance companies have little patience for repairs over replacement though, stay on 'em!

(It’s the kit by Extreme Dimensions) Well no you have aroused my curiosity... The only body-kit (outside of a race car) that I have seen, is lanceslambos's [just for below the doors]. It looked fine, but frankly, I was not impressed enough to go looking for a set, or try to talk him out of his. Lance also has a spoiler, but by shear chance, my car also came with one. (Mine yas the built-in third brake light, his doesn't) Could you share a picture or two of your kit? Heck, I wouldn't mind seeing one of the accident damage, either. I have to agree with Tigger, about how common kits are, though. There was very limited after-market for these, even when Oldsmobile was still making cars. Mustangs, camaros, etc, still have an after-market for 20+ year old cars, because those old models are still so popular. If you absolutely must have a kit, repair, custom made, or becoming a wizard at haunting junk yards are your likely options.

Here is a picture of the car before the wreck. (It’s in the shop, so unfortunately I can’t take more and wem to have misplaced the wreck photos:/ Interestingly, my car has a spoiler with the build in light like yours but mine supposedly came with the kit. Interesting.

Yeah, that's a really nice looking kit (& beautiful car). I can see why you are looking. Someone must have been really committed to having that custom look. I've gotten so used to only seeing light colored Auroras, I had to do some looking around, for a picture to compare to. The side-skirts seem to be the same as Lance's. You can see his car, here. He didn't have the front kit, maybe that's why I didn't much care about the skirts. His old car, is my "parts car." His current car was still stock (like the first picture), when I saw it. He has installed the skirts & done his paint-work, since. You can also see his spoiler (I think the ends on mine overhang the fenders an inch or two more, on each side.) I went looking for the old pictures I've posted of mine (only ever done a couple), & they are no longer viewable. I absolutely prefer the gen 1, with a spoiler. I will have to get some new pics. I am hoping to have a replacement engine in, by summer. Lance is a lot more adventurous with his car, than I am with mine. He does nice paint-work. I think I would struggle with the raw metal look, if I did my car, like his. ---I'd always be trying to get this or that spot to better match the rest. ...it's actually what I have been doing, with the flaking parts of the white diamond pearl paint, on mine. My current theory is that GM had some kind of contamination problem during or after applying the primer. Three corners of my roof seemed to have peeling from UV exposure, or something. I sanded down to primer & repainted them, only to have two of them start peeling again, before I got to the pearl. The third corner, I took down to bare metal, because there was a defect that went clear through. It did not peel again.

Man, that’s rough. I wish you luck on the painting!
Also, believe it or not, I actually found a junked Aurora about an hour to the north of me with the kit! I drove up there today and payed the guys $150 for the front bumper kit. I hauled it home! Unfortunately there are some cracks, but nothing that can’t be fixed with some fiberglass and sanding. Lots of sanding. It was a really lucky break for me. I’ll try to get some good pictures of it tomorrow to post.
Also thanks for the compliments on my car! That pic was taken when I first got her two years ago as my first car. I’ve been upgrading and restoring since.

Well, after much blood, sweat, (and money) I finally got the replacement body kit installed. Here’s what it looks like in good shape.

Thanks guys! Pureinsanity’s kit looks great too. It might be a derivative from the same company? They do look quite similar. Marc, i could’ve sworn I’ve seen a G2 body kit. Can’t remember where I saw it though.

The only kits I've ever heard of are the original Razzi Kit and the Duraflex knock off. Either way I'm glad you found a replacement. Where did you end up locating it?

I ended up finding a donor car about an hour and a half north of me. I managed to convince the guys to let me buy the front piece alone and also have them remove it for me for a nominal cost. I was very fortunate.

I'll say. That is crazy good luck. I've only ever seen a car with a kit in the yard one time and it was damaged (this was about a month ago too)

I believe this was all covered in the previous statements but Razzi went out of business OR at least they stopped making the classic body kits. I know from personal experience because I literally purchased the last set of side skirts they had in their warehouse years ago. As far as the nose piece I have seen Duraflex and Razzi from time to time and believe they are likely one in the same. It looks pretty good (not too ricy).
