i am in.....alan, i think Mercer County Park sounds like a good place...i was reading their website...theyre open 365 days a year and from dawn til dusk...they have picnic areas, etc and there is no fee to use the park...close enough for me should we do this the last weekend in August (the 30th or 31st) or maybe some time in Sept for you all coming from PA/DE the park is not far off exit 8 on the NJ Turnpike

Hi Gina. The only issue with Mercer is "which entrance?" as that park is huge. Otherwise, yeah, it's got lots of space, some nice vistas as a background for photos, and is pretty easy to get to from major highways. I'll put a little thought into it and do some recon for a good location. Labor Day weekend (8/30-31) isn't good for me, tho. But this weekend (8/16-17) and Sunday 8/24 are open. Otherwise I'm into September.

In Mercer County Park, the boathouse/marina area is the most scenic. This Sunday 8/17 Princeton National Rowing Association is having a regatta there so it will be quite a busy place. September 14 & 20 also have events scheduled at the marina. Then again, it is a huge park so I'd bet we could find a parking area away from the marina that wouldn't be crowded.
None of the picnic areas have barbeque grills that I recall but we could always bring our own or have a cold food picnic. Again, I'll do more scouting one night this week.
Alan

Sept 13th....how about the rest of you (Felix, Unirok, CaseAce) as far as dates???

I scouted Mercer County Park tonight. The Marina and West Picnic areas are probably the easiest places to find as they are well marked. Both have good sized lots with picnic tables nearby. There are a few bbq grills, and each has a playground alongside for anyone like me who might bring kids. The actual address is MERCER COUNTY PARK - 334 South Post Road, West Windsor | (609) 448-1947 Here is a link to directions (ignore the directions for MCP Northwest!): www.state.nj.us/counties/mercer/commissions/pdfs/mcpc_directions.pdfThe main entrances are off of Hughes Drive or Old Trenton Road, depending on the direction you're coming from. Here is a map of the park: www.state.nj.us/counties/mercer/commissions/pdfs/mercer_county_park_map.pdfYou'd follow the main road through the park (Paxson Ave) until you see signs for the West Picnic area or Marina. If we choose a date that has an event scheduled for the marina we'd want to avoid it and the West Picnic area and choose some outlying parking lot. But otherwise, we've got the place, so we just need the date. Again, this month I'm open 8/16, 17 and 24. What's good for everyone else?

I can't do the 24th. I'm going to Rhode Island for the week on business and leaving that morning. I'm open for any weekend in September.

OK so far it's looking like September is the better month: Any weekend in September: me, felixtcat, unirok
Exceptions: rocketv8 : 9/13
Unknowns: CaseAce others???
So far I'm favoring Saturday 9/6 as there is no event scheduled for the marina that weekend and there are events scheduled for the following weekends (Sun 9/14 & Sat 9/20). So how 'bout we nail it down for Saturday 9/6 at the MCP marina.
Time suggestions, anyone? 11 AM to midafternoon-ish?

OK Everyone, we're on! Saturday September 6, 11 AM, Mercer County Park marina (See map and directions earlier in this thread).
There are 3 lots at the marina. I'll get there early and try to stake a claim in the right-most lot up by the water as that would be a good background, though that's also the area that fills first. If that doesn't work I'll shoot for the left-most lot by the volleyball courts, mainly because there are picnic tables there and that lot is least likely to have marina traffic in it.
If neither of those places work just circle the 3 lots and look for my Diamond White '03, probably parked across as many spaces as I can to reserve room ;D Right now it looks like we'll have 3 'roras there plus unirok's beemer. Other Auroras and those who appreciate them are, of course, also welcome!

It's a bummer CaseAce isn't gonna make it. Case, bring the fam and dog along! I might be doing the same...
I'm printing a couple different versions of the ACNA cards so all attendees can take some home with them. I ordered ACNA window decals from mission008 (see the ACNA Marketplace section for the thread and ordering info) and I may not use them both so might give one away. I'm thinking it would look real nice on Unirok's new 745 ;D I plan to have some of my favorite car care products on hand, too, so we can spiff up the rides for pictures. If you've got a preferred product, bring it along so we can compare and get the cars prettier faster. Other than that I'm just gonna bring some frisbees or other toys to play with, a little food and drink, and a good attitude. Look forward to meeting as many Aurora owners as possible!

Glad to hear from you, felixtcat. Looks like it's gonna be a Diamond White 'rora fest. 2 classics and my 2nd gen, all white. Now I'm not discriminating against other colors or anything, but I think we could get some nice pics with all the same color cars. C'mon, is there really only 4 or 5 of us from NJ/PA/DE/NY !?! Well, 3's a start. Unirok, you coming?
