Looks like that'll help your flow at least 5-7% nice job. (Glad I don't have one of those though lol)

Nice work, man!
Btw those valve covers are a little torn up, do you want me to coat them for you before you stick that bad boy in? Or I could go get a set here at a yard, coat them, and send them to you? I could coat headers too while I'm at it.
*edit* I forgot the valve covers are aluminum. I'll make sure we can coat those.

They are actually magnesium. Yep! ;D Randy just finished a black and polished front cover recently. I doubt he would put the 4.0L valve cover on the 4.6L though. Everybody would call him a 4.6L liar.

Naw, I 'm good. I really appreciate the offer, though. ;D I will sand these covers down and fix them myself, I enjoy it. I have already done a little on each one, you can see if you look at my first pic compared to one of the latest ones. I don't really find a need to coat the exhaust, either, as nice as it sounds, you really don't see much of it, and its natural look is ok. I finally have the flex pipe pretty close to where I want it, I am really glad I did this, and it took less than 2 hours. I got a lot of other junk and slag off the inside, too, smooth is good yes. Now I will be getting back to cleaning up the motor. I am really considering doing a lower block seal while it is out, it does not appear to have any leaks now, so I am still thinking about it at this point. I have also been considering just using the diff out of the trans I bought, I like the trans I have now, it works good, the other one is unknown. Still on a hunt for an Autobahn computer, since I only have an hour or two a day to work on my project, it should be a while before I need it.

I may stick it on there sometime, it would be a shame to let it go to waste. Let em call me a liar, it may be true. All the pics could be just random pics of a Cadillac motor. Let's see some pics on this next to your Aurora, Randy!!! lol I am callin bs on this one till he shows a pic of it next to his car.

Don't think, reseal the bottom! Mine didn't look leaky either, and I even re-torqued it. Fail!

Just tell them to hop in that passenger seat lol. ^ Follow the Bob haha, that sucks man Couldn't be as bad as my luck. Was sure my axle was bad but happened to be a bearing. Ball bearings have much different symptoms than tapered roller. Didn't have any play 6-12 but when I pulled it the bearing cage rattled with a good shaking. Best way I found to test ball bearing is smack tire with a mallet listen for cage to rattle (on jack of course).

Randy has staunchly defended us against bogus "tuners" and "4.6 swappers" for years, so he should be able to put whatever he wants on it! I personally like the 4.0 covers better anyway!

I personally like the 4.0 covers better anyway! Me too. It's like when they made the 4.6 covers the engineer got lazy and decided to just make them plain instead of a cool design like the 4.0 covers haha

Aurora's can be fail-proof, just a lot of preventative maintenance and the combined knowledge of our failures on here. They're such a wonder to drive without problems Had to drive my in-laws regal to get bearing this morning. Felt like a card board box on a go kart frame compared to my beloved Aurora haha.

Haha good point, maybe they made the 4.6 covers and realized how bland it looked. ;D

Pulled the front valve cover, rubbed lucas oil treatment on the camshaft and exposed parts, covered it ,then worked on the cover a little more. Removed almost all of the paint and ground down some casting flash. Aurora valve covers definitely look a lot nicer, 4.6 covers are kinda boring, but easier to work on.

Looks good. You have a good spare subframe to build up on waiting? Keep at it, enjoy the project. I would love to do this with the '98 and throw some new paint on it.

Check those cam cast numbers might be ahead of the game lol. Lookin smooth, hope you pressure tested those cylinders (just in case). Would be better to know before it was in haha. Hope you get her done soon without issue.

Yeah, I have an extra subframe on my parts car, I will have to decide if the extra work is worth it to save me time on the install. That's another thing with the subframe, if I get it out, I will have to paint it and make it look nice, fix whatever on it, and change the sway bar, that could take me some extra time. Another thing is the parts car has like 200k on it, but the sub frame in my car has about 160k, so the one in now is a little younger mileage wise, but older by about 8 months time wise. lol Check those cam cast numbers might be ahead of the game lol. Lookin smooth, hope you pressure tested those cylinders (just in case). Would be better to know before it was in haha. Hope you get her done soon without issue. I will check the numbers, might as well. I had that same thought yesterday. What if I did all this work, and the motor ended up being bad? I will be pressure testing them. I don't know how, but I can learn pretty easy. I just bought some kind of vacuum tester from a pawn shop, I will see if it will work for the job, if not I will borrow one from AZ. I appreciate the advice.

A compression test is always a good idea but a N* can pass compression test and still have bad HG/Stripped Bolts.

This motor actually has turbos built into the exhaust already. I am considering adding a supercharger too, I think it would look sweet sticking sideways out of the hood. I am also getting a computer tune from ajxtcman/caleditor/pcmcalibrators, he says it will be done tomorrow. He said that a couple years ago, but I still believe him.
