Ok. I will work on that for the future. I have been thinking about filling my storage up with Northstars and 4.0s. My Mom also works for a cross country shipping business, so that could work out.

You'd better believe if mad tuner works out that I'll be dropping in a 4.6 in my Aurora with a tune once I get my C6. Sara is going to hate my Aurora being a weekend car, but hey. ;D
You just don't know yet that you'll be helping me do the swap. ;D

If you don't have the '96.5 and up updated suspension, this would also be the perfect time to change that out, and update your front brakes to '07 Impala.

No, sub-frame is mostly painted, turn the motor over every couple days. All my extra time is stuck in this 2g, ran into some problems that were not really problems once I figured out what I was doing wrong, hope to finish it pretty soon. I had a guy quit at work, so I have been there 6 days a week and then 2-3 hours a night and a few hours on Sundays with the 2g. Then trans in a Grand Prix, easy, then my car, then Lances car. There are not enough hours in the day.

Haha lame! But understandable. What is up with Lance's car? Is he taking up your extra bay or sitting outside?

Stop making excuses, I want 4.6 updates and I want them now!!!! Lol Ok ok! Yesterday I bought 2 cans of paint for the project. lol Lances car is outside at the moment, I charged the battery and fixed his low tire, that's about it, so far. I did notice that when it was raining the lights on his car turned on, so that has to have something to do with his no start during rain problem, and it is likely in an area that is exposed to the elements.

Yeah, it was raining and your park lights were on.
Details on the paint. lol Rustoleum, gloss black, 25% free on each can, that's 50% free paint! About $4 each at Lowes.
Sub-frame is almost done, needs another coat of paint and then get the control arms cleaned up. I want to use mounts from newer salvage cars. If I don't get those, I should have enough between the good ones I have left and the remaining good ones that are on my car now.

Would you consider polyurethane if available or is cost prohibitive for subframe bushings/control arms)? It would completely be worth it in IMO. I located some poly control arm bushing for 97+ last night too. I would call to make for certain if interested. As for subframe I am sure some universal ones would match up. www.cadillacbushings.com/ControlarmsandBushings.htmJust thought I would throw it out there! Keep up the good work. Let me know of your next salvage yard trip haha.

Thanks sall! I got to take a look at a new salvage yard, they have so many cars I barely had a chance to look at all the GMs, I saw a few newer Cadillacs, so considering the cost, I will probably stick with original GM parts but newer. Thanks for the link, though, that's pretty interesting. I really want to replace my rear sub-frame with a newer setup. I did not have much money to spare for parts that day, it was more like an looky trip. But after this LX5 mess I hope to get a little bit of my life back, and get some spare time to get some parts, lol. I did get a rubber floor mat set and 5 key fobs for $10, I have 3 remotes programmed to my Aurora now. www.buddysupullapart.com/pricelist.aspxI have decided to move my car in front of the GP GT trans job, I can't continue waiting. Keep running into walls on an uphill battle to fix the LX5, but I will be over the hump soon.

Hahas just playin. I know you're swamped with work! On the downhill side of the LX5, my car will be after that. I wait. Plato442, you may want to start another thread about it in the performance section. Let us know how it worked for you and provide any links you have to it, afik no on here has used one. We do have a member that used a jet performance module type thing, lancelambos.

I was just throwing it out there, didnt necessarily want to start a new thread on the subject. Its not a "module", its a mass airflow sensor made by jet performance.
Also, do you know if a person can have 3 remotes programmed on a 2G aurora? Thanks!

Asking about remotes is the kind of thing you can start a new thread for, it doesn't really belong in Randy's 4.6 swap thread. New threads are free, after all. It's good to keep topics separate. ;D

Getting back on track with the swap. I finished the surface of the rear valve cover and painted it black tonight, also working on cleaning up the coolant crossover surfaces to install new gaskets. Next step is to attach the coolant crossover and then bolt the motor and trans together to start mounting onto the sub-frame.
