UM what about us stock 3.5 people , should we me asking for tunes on our PCM? What about other things like the magnastear and stuff that is programed into the pcm. Do we loose that? Does it get saved then ported back in with tweaked values?

We should stay on topic You can find several topics based on the year over in the performance section.

THE PCM IS HERE!!! I'm going to install it at lunchtime and report my results then. Woot!! Ok, perhaps not at lunchtime. Alldata tells me the PCM is located behind the instrument cluster. Not really a lunchtime job. Soon though

Not really a lunchtime job. Soon though PCM is above the passenger kickpanel. Pull the 2 bolts for the kickpanel and drop it out. Then, disconnect the pcm and slide it out of the plastic bracket. It's a really quick job.

Ok after ripping the dash completely apart my idiot self double checked Alldata and found out it's true location. Not sure why the component locator said it was behind the instrument cluster. Anyhow, chalk me up as a satisfied customer. A big personal thanks to ajxtcman on the setup. This thing is an absolute beast all over the RPM range. A healthy launch will pin you to the back of the seat now. On a steady cruise at roughly 40mph, romping on the throttle will break the tires loose with traction control off. After that it's nothing but hump and get it. WOT at a 60mph cruise will have you at 100mph in nothing flat. All in all I am VERY VERY impressed. Next stop is some dyno time (possibly this weekend or next). Not sure what I can keep up with now so I guess it's off to the track asap.

phydeaux PM'd me and told me he had an EVAP code I forgot 96 and 97 have different EVAP systems. I had a guy contact me on the Caddy forum (Rondo) with a 98 Aurora Autobaun. I looked at the program in my spare time. With the LS1/Shelby PCM consumming my life I just used the 98 program instead of going into phydeaux. This weekend it looks to be snowing. This will leave me inside I will get it right for him and send it out. I would like to get him a Shelby PCM also.

...... Shelby PCM. Can you say WHEEEEEEE!!!! I was wondering if I bent a pin or possibly the pins being different on the two computers. Glad to know we got it sorted out. No big rush at all. Don't kill yourself figuring this out. I have nothing but time now and still have the stock PCM that I can throw back in to pass Texas emissions testing in Feb. Oh, I also noticed the rev limit was still around 5900rpm. From reading up on the specs on this motor is there any way we can get the redline closer to say 6300 - 6400 where the specs say it is. I know it's not going to make that much difference but it would be nice to hear people's comments at watching it go way into the red. Peace on you,
Jeff

Not sure what I can keep up with now so I guess it's off to the track asap. torque management disable? i am sure by removing the safeties anything can be made faster, as ur experi is no differnet than my 4.6 with the map sensor unplugged (no torque management). and not that i am knocking anybody or anything but there is a fine line to walk on durability. the engine may be able to take it, but what of the tranny. after a few weeks of no torque management my tranny started to leak fluid badly. a 40k mile tranny gone, with a bad axle support bearing. destoryed with the same hard launch burn rubber antics that you describe, but with traction control on. my point is this, we dont know what the classic can and can not do. and fixing a classic is not a cheap or easy task. proceed with caution. mines is fast enough with just the 4.6 swap. and as my ol lady said it "kel its a luxury car, not a hot rod. go fast in something that was meant to go fast"

Those were just my initial tests just to see what the performance difference was. All in all it's a mildly driven daily commuter. I'll mostly unwind her when the situation demands. Here in Houston traffic that will probably be more than most but I'm still taking it easy on her. At least until next year when I can get my guy to bulletproof the tranny for me. Then it might be a little bit of a different story.

What do I need to do? (I've had a spare PCM since my last chat with you)
Oh, and BTW... would the killer LS1 PCM happen to have DBW TB control? (that project makes my throttle foot nervous just reading about it, and watching your video!) ------------

I will catch you over @ ACNA

I can definitely wait on the good stuff. I can also send back the one you sent me because I have to put the stock PCM back in to pass state inspection next month. I'll leave the stock in place until the good stuff comes available. I'll see if I can get it in the mail this weekend.

Can double check with the brain, but I'm pretty sure that you can if you swap the intake setup(including sensors) and the knock sensor

No problems, just install your '95 knock sensor in the '95 location and run your 95 throttle body and injectors. The rest is all the same.

Brain;
If you don't mind me asking, what is the difference in the 95 Throttle body and injectors? Different size?

95s dont use a MAF sensor, so the TB is different. And the inlet and return lines on the fuel rail are angled differently.
