Should have posted this a little sooner, but here it is now. This is our 6th meeting, and it's going to be a blast! We are thinking the Aurora car show in Aurora, Missouri will be back in order this year Sat, Oct. 5th, and we have to go to the drag strip (10/4 TNT/ 417Racing Midnight Drags), with the 4.6, it's our duty to do so, so show up early or plan to meet in Rogersville, MO or at the preplanned camping spot which will be discussed further in the thread. Hope to see some old friends and make some new ones. I have left out some things and I am out of time, we will get it all worked out. www.ozarkracewaypark.com/schedule.html

I'd love to make it, but living in Northeastern Ohio, I'd have $250+ in gas alone!!

remember to bring a tent if you'd like to camp on my place. The steering on my mower went out and to date my yard has only been mowed once all year! then both of my weed eaters decided to crap out so it's a freaking jungle with weeds as high as my house in places but don't worry it will be in pristine order come meet time guys.

Man, when I checked a couple months ago the car show was the last week of September. I guess they changed it. I'm the best man in a wedding that weekend; my sister in law is marrying my best friend. (Kinda cool how that worked out haha.) So I couldn't make it that weekend. Lance will be mad if you miss the car show two years in a row so I guess I'm out of this one unless its the last week of September, Gents. I planned on it being that weekend, I have planned all kinds of stuff around it including John's bachelor party haha.

I am definitely planning on making it again this year. It would be sweet if we could get to the drag strip. What day would we go to the strip. I know the last time we tried, it was on Friday. If we go to the show, I am gonna need to find a DA polisher to get my paint sanded and buffed.
Edit- I would be totally fine with missing the show. If I remember right, me and collins tossed the idea around about meeting at his shop at KC. We could hang there Saturday night and play on the dyno if Collins is trained to work it.

Haha the dyno is back up and running, but I don't feel up to speed enough to facilitate a dyno day yet haha. I'm a little biased but I'm ok with missing the show, it's not like we're really competitors other than to beat out the Mustang Club anyway haha. If we could do it a week earlier then nothing will be able to keep me from coming!

Just got off the phone with Shannon at the Aurora chamber, she said it's the first saturday in October like always (10-5-13) You and your weddings Collins lol. Anyone wanting to save $5.00 can preregister by going to www.auroramochamber.com < chamber blog < 29th annual aurora autofest and print out the registration form. Just get it in to them by September 27th to save 5 bucks or you can save it from below and do it that way.

Hey man, I'm the best man and my Wife is the maid (matron?) on honor, so we can't really miss it. ;D
It was super fun last year when we didn't do the show; it gave us time to go to the salvage yard. That was cool. We could go to the strip for sure and we NEED to take some good pictures too. The gas station on route 66 is always a good place, but whatever.
If enough people don't care about the show I guess we could move it to the previous weekend, but I don't want to make waves.

I was under the impression the show was the last week of september. I have an inventory scheduled for october 8th and prepping for it a full week in advance. I will have to sit this one out. Which sucks. But I'm not certain the Aurora would have made it. But I do have a gutless eco car. ;D

We will move it to the previous weekend. 9-27 to 9-29 .The car show is fun, but it's also a pita, Collins has been at this meet since I started having it, and the meet is more important than the car show, so let's relax, have a good time, and we will figure it out.
A day at the salvage yard is always fun, there are a lot of Auroras at the salvage at the moment, so that could give us something to do on Saturday.
It would be better if we could meet a little earlier on Friday, I am thinking like 4pm, that would give people time to settle in and clean out cars for the people that want to race. If we plan on 4 and people show up at 5, hopefully we could make it by 6-7 so we have more time to race this time, last time went by super fast, we only got a few passes in, we didn't have enough time to get used to it. Either way, prepare to have your pos Auroras stomped in the ground! ha ah ah ha

Well randy was being nice allowing me to come, I can't come the week mentioned at first so he decided to move it back a week. I'll make it up to you, lance. I've got a carbon fiber Aurora logo with your name on it. ;D

Sorry, Lance, not trying to make anyone upset, but trying to accommodate everyone and their schedule, I had not even really had a plan until I threw this together the morning I posted it, so it wasn't exactly set in stone, yet. It will be the last weekend of September, the 27th - 29th, I accidentally set the title to a later month, but I now corrected it. Is this weekend good for everyone? I think it might also be a good idea to have a postponed date, in case it's raining the planned meeting, or we could just keep it in mind that it's possible with the way the weather has been. Bring the mung!

Rain has never stopped us before! Haha. That works for me, I can also do the third or fourth week in October, or any weekend after really. It just gets colder and colder the later you go haha

I could do the September 27-29. I will just have to miss the auction with all of the barn find chevys that I told you about a while back. It is the same weekend. I would really like to be able to go to the drag strip if we could. If we did to the drag strip, what time and where do we need to meet?

I can do the strip for sure. I have to see Randy's new 4.6! I could do Friday at 4, we will just have to leave a little earlier. Could you make it to Kansas City by like 1:30-1:45, Lathan? It's just over 2 hours to Bolivar.
I'll borrow a couple gopro cameras from a guy at work so we can get some videos! ;D

I should be able to make it to KC by 1-1:30 if I'm out of hays by 9:30. I should only have to miss one class, which I should be fine with (good friends with the professor). The gopros would be pretty sweet. Definitely see if you could get a hold of some.

I would be looking at a 5-6 hour drive. Closer to 6 hours once I factor in stops. The Aurora is completely out of the question. But the Escort LX GT SE Wagon quad turbo supercharged eco flex fuel equipped escort wagon will be bringing me in. No drag strip for me! I can quote a time of 4 PM for me. That's with me leaving around 10 A.M. Any members gonna be swinging through IL?
I will get an exact address as the date approaches.

Since you guys will be coming through Bolivar, we can meet here and go from there. I need to give Gator a call and see if he wants stop by, I would also like to know if he got his Aurora started. Did I mention I talked to lionvista a few months ago? He still has his Aurora, he was at our first meet.

So will everyone be meeting in Bolivar and then heading out? Is lance's place still open to campers? Just trying to work up a budget for the trip. In years past, I have traveled to Collins after the meet, I'm ASSuming his wife is still allowing this to take place? I will volunteer myself to be the photographer/videographer for the drag strip. I won't be running the turd. Collins has been my pick n pull for the Aurora lately, so it might be nice to visit a junkyard for the escort...it needs a new roof rail.

Is lance's place still open to campers? There's really not any reason for anyone to come to my place if we're not doing the car show in Aurora. Randy lives just over an hour one way from me (63 miles) and the dragstrip is 45 miles from me.

We will probably be doing some type of camping, last time we went and stayed at the lake, and it was pretty sweet and a fun drive that's not far from my house. I would say most coming from North of here would want to meet at my house, then we will go from there, address is 1419 S. Clark Ave. Bolivar, MO 65613. For Friday, with short time, camping may be more difficult, we can set up tents in my yard if needed, if we don't have a lot of people most of us could stay in the house. Stinkers smokers and spitters will need to control yourselves. ha ha

Sounds good. Camping sounds fun wherever it's at, I'm sure we'll figure something out. Zach, I have already told you that you can come visit on the way back. So yes, Sara will be happy to see you. ;D What does our attendance list look like this year? Let's keep one going like previous years. Quote and modify as you add (or subtract) your name from the list. For the calendar picture only Auroras will be allowed but my xB was in some non-calendar pictures last year... If you want to come to the meet it doesn't matter what you arrive in. All are welcome. ;D - xjsman89: Yes
