This meet should be great. I've always wanted to take my car down the strip to see what my car can really do.
I'm guessing we will do pics Saturday afternoon? Then camping on Saturday night. Are we still gonna try to do a junkyard possibly Saturday morning? I liked going to the yard last year.

Yeah I was thinking the yard Saturday morning, pictures Saturday afternoon, and camping Saturday night. We need to not be lazy and skip pictures Saturday afternoon like last year, but that means that Bob actually has to arrive Friday night this time. ;D
Lathan for what it's worth I'll try and see if we can get the dyno for a couple hours Friday, I want to run my car too. We have some tuning jobs stacked up tho, I don't know if we'll have time. We have a Lingenfelter Trans-Am on there this week, that thing sounds good. ;D

The dyno would be freaking awesome. If we can get on the dyno, what time do you need me in KC by? 1-1:30 still work or do you need me earlier?

The Rogersville race track is 50 miles from Bolivar and roughly a 45 minute drive.

Sounds like fun. I'm in. Gotta run that 4.6, man! My 96 will put you to shame. ;D I'll be camping for sure, will we be at the same place as last time? And camping is Saturday, correct? I am still shopping around a bit on camping, but the last place was good, if we don't find anywhere else, that will be fine. Everything else sounds good, the salvage yards we are going to are open until 5, so we don't have to rush like the last one. I will provide a couple links. Check out the Cadillac section at Buddys, they have lots. Pick n pull has a separate "premier" lot where things cost extra, Buddys mixes them altogether, and they are huge, well, for our area. www.buddysupullapart.com/www.picknpull.com/

I wouldn't mind going to the pick n pull, we have a couple here but no "premier" area. Might be cool to check out.
I'll camp wherever as long as they allow adult beverages haha.
Can you make it, Jack?!

Don't know for sure. Considering it. It would be a last minute decision. I'm still in Mississippi until Nov 1st and it'll depend a lot on what's going on with work as it gets closer.

Hope you guys can make it! We have never had a 2G at the meet. You could win the special camping spot if you show up. www.streetmachinenationals.net/eventsStreet Machine Nationals! Saturday Sept. 28-Sunday Sept. 29 Here is a sweet bit of news, they are having a pretty big car show in Spfd. the week of the meet. It's pretty neat the weekends of the car shows, in the late afternoon and evening, people line up sitting on the streets because all the cars from the car show cruise up and down the streets, people race and do burnouts and what not. After salvage yards, I think it might be sweet for us to cruise up and down the street a few times, then pull over and watch some cars drive by, after that we would head out to camp. One night I passed a ricer that was passing a Chevy truck, then I got pulled over, lol, got off lucky with a speeding ticket, 1mph from going to jail. Another year, I was looking at a car and then about rear ended someone, I slammed on my brakes and caused a small pile up behind me. So, I usually have some pretty good times at this car show. You guys just keep me boxed in and try to control me. Let us do this!

That would actually be pretty cool. We won't do the show, right? We will just cruise around for a bit. What about pictures. Are we still gonna try to do them Saturday or are we gonna do them Sunday?

I use to attend the Street Machine Nationals when it was in Springfield, Illinois. It was a blast but a bit of a zoo. They use to get a few thousand cars.

Yeah, it gets pretty crazy here, too. Lots of people, lots of cars. I am wondering if anyone goes out to the dragstrip the Friday before the car show, we might have a pretty sweet show, either way, the dragstrip is usually hoppin with sweet cars. That would actually be pretty cool. We won't do the show, right? We will just cruise around for a bit. What about pictures. Are we still gonna try to do them Saturday or are we gonna do them Sunday? Yeah, no car show, just a little cruising up and down the strip and maybe park and watch for a while. Pictures are very important, I am thinking we can try to catch the golden hour Saturday evening, and Sunday morning. Maybe while we are out and about we can keep our eyes peeled for some good picture spots, we can always go out to Spencer if we want, but something new would be good, too, unless something new can't be found. We will get it worked out as we go.

Oh yeah I forgot about the nationals. We can do the old north town mall parking lot there will be thousands of spectators. Also they usually have a shoot out at the drag strip that weekend for those guys and BTW a lot of those cars have been in the aurora car show every year, ie the yellow hurst olds last time parked across from us. I go hang out and watch this every year too. My buddy with the awesome mustang will be there. You know they go out to the west bypass and street race from 2-3 am

Sounds ok. I don't know how I feel about a car show, I drive all the way there to hang out with you guys haha. I wouldn't drive to Springfield for a car show. I guess we'll see!
I don't know about street racing either, Especially in our cars around other people lol. We are going to the drag strip after all. Out in the country where Randy lived where a single car didn't pass by for two hours is another story lol

But the Aurora is sitting the meet out. 3 broken swaybar links and bald tires have put it out for the meet. I will be bringing the Escort, in all it's glory. Thought about bringing the Mazda, but the ole ball and chain couldn't suffer with an Aurora that can barely turn left. ;D

He has only managed to take out two trees with the old pilot, a fire hydrant, and the rear end of a new ford mustang. I don't think I'd like the outcome of a week with the escort in his hands. I bought the escort for economy, not the derby! I was going to rent a car, but it came out to cost almost as much as all the repairs would cost on the rora. So still sticking with the scort. I could always fly into Kansas city and drive the scion, right?

You'll have to fight Sara for the scion. ;D if you fly in that's totally ok but you'll be riding in the Aurora with me and flying back haha.

When they have the car show people cruise their nice cars in the evenings. We would also not have time to street race, I don't see how those people get away with it, anyways. I pulled up to those guys one night, I made a little noise with my car and the cops were there in 5 minutes, that place they race is out by my old house.

I responded to what you said yesterday Collins but I see it didn't actually post or something. Yeah there's a few obvious reasons why we won't be street racing. 1.it's fun to watch but illegal and dangerous, get caught - lose your license and possibly car too. 2. no one in an Aurora even Randy with his 4.6 would have a snow flakes chance in heck anyway, like racing a Hayabusa with a tricycle. C'mon man!
Randy they were coming anyway. Cops will be thick as flies during the nationals.

It might be a blessing that the meet won't be at my house after all because I have confirmed Gallinippers! I'll know tomorrow when I talk to the M.D.C. b/c it's about 1 am now. What are Gallinippers? Well they are aggressive blood suckers that wait till you turn out the lights then they come and bite you. I killed 4 tonight in my house and one got me the other night so bad that I'm afraid to go to sleep. It may sound funny but it's no laughing matter. These monsters aren't even supposed to be in Missouri! Long story short - my riding mower broke down this summer and on the same day both of my weed eaters decided to do the same, counting the brush hog 2 weeks ago, my yard has only been mowed twice all year. Couple that with the fact that I have a wet weather creek in my yard still holding 1 - 2 feet of water and (seriously) up to 8 foot weeds in places - the Gallinippers found me. I have to do something pronto because I've been losing sleep at night and school is back in session. I can't continue to function like this. www.livescience.com/37383-gallinippers-huge-mosquitoes-florida.htmlwww.inquisitr.com/695183/mega-mosquito-gallinippers-now-appearing-in-florida/I'mtrying to upload pics of the ones I killed but it's not working. Image shack wants some key so I got that now but have no idea how to use it and it won't send me a link to change my password which I don't know my old one anyway also the ACNA direct pic upload keeps saying internal error 500

Well it looks like the plans worked out anyway, Lance. Sorry to hear about your crazy problem, That sounds in tents like camping as Randy would say.
Just make sure they don't come with you to the meet. ;D

They are just larger mosquitoes which usually target cattle. If they are in your house get better screens for your windows lol. I would say no more pesky than a horse fly.
