Whyt the tear emoticon? My wife is in for the bake-off Kay, she asked, are you ready? ;D
As for the time, you guys tell me. 10am OK? This location is still only 10 minutes from my house. Afterwards, if the stragglers want to go over to my house before they depart, I have no problem with that.

Too Funny! The guys at the Roundhouse have a comedy show every Thursday and the guy that coordinates it says the same thing as you. I wish he could come to the show, he loves cars as much as he loves pick-ups.

I would not be free on Friday till late in the evening, I usually get my daughters home around 7pm from the ex's house. They will be there for a portion of the day on Saturday along with Debbie, I mean Joyce and her cookies.

I'm not sure about Friday, our travel plans are waiting on when my wife is getting together that weekend (up there in the same area) for a college roommate reunion. (You know I'll be avoiding that ) So it could be just me, could be me and 2 boys, could be me, wife, and 2 boys. 1-4. As far as the day's activities, maybe we should talk more about what we want to DO and that will help us pick a time. I'm imagining we arrive and meet up, introductions all around, and take some photos at that location. A parking lot is certainly good for that. Then we can cruise with oldsnut in the lead since he's the area rep, maybe some more photo opportunities, and find a public park to cook out. Even if we can't reserve park space, there much be someplace at a local/county facility that we can go and eat, right? What with all the cookies being brought?! 10 AM sounds like a pretty good meeting time, if we want to plan to eat lunch. Hang out for awhile and people can take off whenever they need/want to from there. Thoughts?

You just want to stay home to help your wife with those chocolate chip cookies oldsnut, I see right what you're up to. ;D This sounds all too familiar...lol...and it doesn't work as well either! What wife would want the hubby to help with the baking! ;D too funny ;D My hubby likes to do the "taste testing" but that's about as far as that goes

Now, Now. My Boys & I came up with a recipe for what 'We believe' is the World's Best Cookie. ;D We call them our "Dad/Lad Cookies (Father/Son). We took the ingredients from our favorite cookies and put them all into one. ;D We will have to bring plenty of these, and store them out of hands reach or they will be gone before we get there. Saturday anytime start between 10 am & 1 pm until 3 pm to 8 pm, or until your 'favorite' juice runs out.

Taste test, I don't thinks so. I have great will power, otherwise I would weigh 300lbs. I really must get my daughters on Friday. If anyone is coming in on Friday and wants to get together at my house, you are more than welcome. PM and let me know if you will be arriving early.

On a side note, if any members have 2-way radios and want to bring them along, that would be awesome. If you are lost or such, I can give you directions. I always am tuned into Channel 10 for car shows.

NO he is only 16 years old (I know his profile says 19 but he is only 16), heck you (and me too) are almost twice his age Since age is relative, we would be old to him oh and btw... Let's try to be careful with too much mindless chit-chat in this thread (I won't name names, lol) I won't name any names either ;D ;D

I was thinking about this meet while the site was down. Before I found the temp site, my son was asking how long the site has been up. I told him 4 years. He asked if I knew what month it was started. I said I thought it was in May. He said he bet the domain name expired and someone snagged it very shortly later, a few of us met up in the temp site and I knew that was not the case. Anyway, I was wondering how many would have shown up down there in Aurora anyways I was pretty sure you would have made it oldsnut ;D

I made a couple of corrections, oldsnut, but for the most part you are very correct I am especially wondering what happened to Javi, Poindexter and Budsang1. You all are closer than the rest of us, you aren't bailing out now? btw, oldsnut, I just saw this post. I guess between losing electricity for 28 hours and the site being down, I missed it. But I sure did get a kick out of it this morning...thanks ;D

Send some PM's to those folks if you don't mind. Everyone may not be constantly reading this thread.

I've been out of town for a while and just caught up with this thread. I should be able to free up a few hours for this.
There don't seem to be many details on activities... are we planning to do lunch at Walter Payton's? We should start to set some details in stone...
Seems like some kids might come -- if I get get my wife to tag along (a nice lunch could inspire her!) then my 5 yr old daughter would join us. It would be nice if there were some activity at a park for the kids to play while we did pics or something like that. Might be nice to add a count of kids to the list.
I'm an amateur photographer (side hobby to keeping my Aurora healthy) and I've got a wide angle lens. I'll bring my gear along and will share any photos that turn out well with anyone who wants them.

Without knowing who is comming, it's pretty hard to plan anything definite. I have asked for more definite numbers but only a handful have responded.
Why don't we just re-schedule when we can get a Forest Preserve District booked. They are all booked solid and I am not going to barge in on someone elses get together. The picnic areas are on a reservation basis around here.

Hopefully we will get some feedback soon. Without knowing who is comming, it's pretty hard to plan anything definite. I have asked for more definite numbers but only a handful have responded. Why don't we just re-schedule when we can get a Forest Preserve District booked. They are all booked solid and I am not going to barge in on someone elses get together. It would be great if everyone were able to come, but I do wonder if these crazy gas prices may be driving some away. Let's see what kind of response we get from the pm's and go from there. any other suggestions? **edit** but don't wait too long or I may be coming in a convertible could I still come

I was really looking forward to the meet but I don't think I will be coming now due to gas prices. Between the Aurora and the minivan I am shelling out $150 week in gas. But ya never know, things may change and I may be able to make it. We shall see.
