Our goal for next year should be 15 cars. That means that Scotty, Javi, Budsgang need to buy another Aurora ASAP. My question is do you like the location? Do you want to move it somewhere else? Let me know if you just plain old want to move to another area and I don't mean Kansas although Collins would love that. Do we want to look at multiple days? I just wished I owned a big ole piece of land and invited you all for the weekend but I don't.

I think Starved Rock State Park would be cool. I dont know how much that would help with people traveling though...

Andy - I like the location because of the covered picnic area, playground, facilities, etc. We never know what the weather will be like. If we ever move this, it would be great to have a covered area.
BTW - you should post pics of your car with your new rims. Its always difficult to imagine different rims on our cars, and I think your go really well with the lines on the Aurora and it would be great to share it with everyone.
Thanks for helping coordinate the event - we really appreciate all your contributions to the club and the meet!

New location... hmmmm. Hard to turn down "Auroras in Aurora" tho. Well we've got a whole year to scout something out. Starved Rock is nice and would provide some hiking and other recreation activities, but I'm not sure what they have in the way of reserve-able spaces. Ok, got my pics up in a thread in the showroom, check them out! just put my pics up in the showroom Hate to be a stickler, but it would be easier to have the Meet pics in a single thread. rcsrgreat could you move yours to rca99's thread since it has more responses? Thanks

It took about 10 shots to get that one to look ok. the rest came out blurry or the sun was reflecting in weird places in the picture lol.

I enjoyed having it in Aurora, IL last year. Where else can we get great pics in front of the Aurora water tanks.

It would be great to find somewhere closer to Kansas to have the meet, but not if it meant less people would come. It was really fun and I enjoyed myself but that was a pretty long drive for me, I don't know if I would make it again. Starved Rock State Park is still an 8 hour drive from Lawrence. I have no idea where we could meet that would be closer to me though; we don't really have any members in between that would be comfortable hosting it.
I also agree that a multiple day meet would be great! I know I say this a lot but maybe some of you could make it down to Springfield, MO in October? It's a really fun time. If Kay comes I'll even make some blueberry surprise. ;D

I think the biggest ACNA meets...yet

Ahhhhhemmmm Mr. Javi, what do we have to do to get your Cub lovin butt to Aurora? Scotty? If we were to move it downstate I fear that the turnout would be worse than dribble on ACNA at times. Would you not agree Kay? If I have more time to plan and execute functions I will. Last year, as you know was somewhat of an iffy year that I would attend and I live 2 miles from the site.
I could try moving it to a cooler time of year when more things are going on in the area. The hotbed of happenings are about 50 miles to the East in Chicago. I try to stay clear of the city when not working.

The proximity to Chicago is probably a bigger draw for members who may not be hip to making a long drive otherwise. Plus the name of the town is "Aurora", I mean come on! ;D But depending on the expected attendance next year, we could re-visit a location change. A little further downstate like Pontiac/Bloomington/Peoria or something along those lines may be a decent compromise. However, if the majority of attendees are from Chicagoland, then it makes more sense to leave it up there.

And do we know anyone near those locations to secure a location and have people actually show up?

And do we know anyone near those locations to secure a location and have people actually show up? I'm betting not. I think the prior suggestions were just to suggest some other similarly named locations.
